time for my weekly update amidst chaos.

this semester is gonna be tough as nails. I worked 42 hours last week blink.gif and though it will slowly go down to the 30 hours a week I'm meant to be working, it won't do so anytime soon. My classes are actually somewhat demanding *though the work hours probably make it seem as such*. I also had to deal with falling out with some friends, which has made me in the slightest bit depressed (to the extent that a friend and I agreed to no longer be friends)

and wlel that's my update. I hope you have all been doing well.

I worked on my painting today.

It made me realize just how much I suck suck suckity suck suck suck.

I don't mean suck in a good way either.

No.
You DON'T suck.
And there is no need to belittle yourself, really. Watercolors are damn tough and whatever the result is you should be damn proud of it.

EDIT: Now that I'm back on BeeBee I'll elaborate: Watercolors are, by far, the worst tool for making pictures that I've had the priviledge to use. Every single time I've used them, during obligatory art classes in elementary, or at home for projects, I have had the greatest urge to break down and cry. Temper colors offer some substance to be worked with, something that can be used on paper on canvas... watercolors ? They offered NOTHING sad.gif I really & truly hated them. Anyone who can paint a 1/2 decent picture with them is truly skilled.

Yes this is true, Zarr. I used to hate the results that I got in my 6th grade watercolor class after school because I didn't realize it then, but I was looking for much more clarity of image, like what you'd get from oil or acrylic paints.

Now that I'm older, I've settled down to the realization that that watercolors have an enticing vaguery and difussion of outline and I appreciate the artform now for the way it is. Let your watercolors develop more on their own, put a little more water down and let the colors blur in a bit. Then when it dries naturally - see what you've got and embellish from there. My watercolor advice, for what it is worth ... (about a Ann Arbor cookie, if I smile real nice at Minque. hahaha)

Oki Ibis...you can have a cookie......or seventeen if you like!

Watercolors uuughhh.......I admire anyone who can use them....my daughter, the one in Ann Arbor is pretty skilled, but it has taken her quite some time to develop her skills.

I´ll try to scan some of her work, just to show you!

Oh yes, please do scan her work Minque. I'd love to see it. The person besides Geonox, whose work I most admire, isn't even really a member of Chorrol - except by marriage. It is the Great Bunny, Mrs. Treydog and she is astoundingly talented. I hope that her sales on ebay are going well. They certainly should be. Art galleries really do take way too high a cut, especially with new artists to them.

Remember to finish all of your antibiotics Mil, even when you start to feel better. You've got to let them run the course in your system, if not - that is how people create false immunities to the drugs.

Next week, eh? Well, at least there is a next week and I assume you are able to collect unemployment benefits? I hope so. Hard enough to go without work, impossible to go without money in this world.

Indeed Milanius, that does extremely suck ... no work & no benefits. Sounds like they need to do something to stimulate the economy.

Minque, please give Mil and Danny some delicious cookies. They both can use them. Milanius wanting to work and can't find any and Danny working too hard. At least Mil will be going to school soon. That's good.

"Hands off, Ibis!" You´ll get yours in a moment..those are for the boys! biggrin.gif

Hmm..I feel somewhat related to Danny´s situation.....there will be a helluva lot of work for me this autumn! kvright.gif

Well I just had my first day of school. Turns out that I've gotten quite a nice setup for my classes.

For this semester, I only have 2 classes, Grade 12 Programming and Grade 12 University-Bound Chemistry. What's great about it is that the Programming class doesn't start until 10:55, which is followed by the chemistry class which finishes at 1:30. The rest of the time, I don't have to be at school!

My second semester is much more busy, but the courses are kinda fun and not gruelling like my other two courses. I have Film Study, French, Film Making, all grade 12 level, and grade 11 Philosophy. I did all most of my maths and sciences last year so I went with a more Englishy year this time.

Looking forward to this year. Hopefully Chemistry isn't as gruelling as I hear it is from people I talk to....

I worked a little more on my painting today. It's slowly becomming good-looking crap, instead of bad-looking crap.

Well, I went by my teacher's class today. When he walked out and looked at me, I couldn't say anything. I walked past and flinched like the poltroon I am. <.<

I am such a chicken****. I couldn't even say "hi."

Just a quick hit'n'run-

Mil- I have done the unemployed thing- hated it. Got a really terrible job that allowed me to go to school (1/4 mile from the job) and learn a little about PC repair. Hang on, my friend, and keep your eyes open for possibilities- even crappy ones.

Mallet- main thing with Chemistry is to keep up. You are in a good place with only the 2 classes- just be sure everything is making sense and ASK if something doesn't...

Everyone else- be good to yourselves.

We are pretty excited in the Treydog household- the GB has sold or has pending sales of $300.00 worth of paintings on Ebay. It is so fun to watch an auction count down through the last few minutes.

Ah well... back to education for a lot of people now. Work hard and don't get in too much trouble. I feel weird that everyone is talking about going back to school etc. Now I've finished uni I don't have to go back into full time education now. I kinda miss it. I'd like to go back to uni and... well, be a uni student for 3 more years.

I still haven't found work. I've applied for all manner of things. I went to a recruitment day for this new department store a couple of weeks back. There was a group interview at first, then half the people got selected for a 1 on 1 interview. I was in that half so I must have done something right. I think I did ok in the interview. I can't think of anything major that I messed up or should have said instead. I am due a letter telling me whether I have a job sometime this week. But I'm finding that as the days go past, my hopes of a letter telling me I got the job are fading.

I've also been having some mind screwing dreams. I think someone was trying to kill me in a dream last night. I don't really remember it, but I remember a theme of killing in a Saw (film) like theme. Then theres these other dreams about... well, one person in particular who now hates me (long story).

And I have an extremely high stress level.
