QUOTE(Ramirez @ Sep 6 2006, 04:06 AM) Ah well... back to education for a lot of people now. Work hard and don't get in too much trouble. I feel weird that everyone is talking about going back to school etc. Now I've finished uni I don't have to go back into full time education now. I kinda miss it. I'd like to go back to uni and... well, be a uni student for 3 more years.
Been there, buddie, but now I'll have to go again, although maybe not that soon the goverment has again pushed the dates for official confirmation for our universities and schools to get proper licences to teach to december 15th. That means I'll wait some more, and in the menatime I'll see about that serviceman thing I still have due [our social servises are a textbook definition of pure and utter crap]. QUOTE(Ramirez @ Sep 6 2006, 04:06 AM) I still haven't found work. I've applied for all manner of things. I went to a recruitment day for this new department store a couple of weeks back. There was a group interview at first, then half the people got selected for a 1 on 1 interview. I was in that half so I must have done something right. I think I did ok in the interview. I can't think of anything major that I messed up or should have said instead. I am due a letter telling me whether I have a job sometime this week. But I'm finding that as the days go past, my hopes of a letter telling me I got the job are fading.
Been there, done that, too. It's not a pleasant feeling, when you KNOW you've done everything possible and charmed people with your enhusiasm to do a merchandiser job [although you have electrotechnician's HS diploma], and weeks go by without them even sending you a letter with a polite euphemism for "**** you, we don't have need for you or your skills"... I know. But screw them, buddie -when life pounds you to the earth just get up again and continue to walk. There is no other option. QUOTE(Ramirez @ Sep 6 2006, 04:06 AM) I've also been having some mind screwing dreams. I think someone was trying to kill me in a dream last night. I don't really remember it, but I remember a theme of killing in a Saw (film) like theme. Then theres these other dreams about... well, one person in particular who now hates me (long story).
And I have an extremely high stress level.
Well that I don't have, thankfully O_o I haven't been sleeping well these few days, but that's completely unrelated to anything else. My throat however seems to be regenerating [VERY] slowly, thank goodness.

Ahhh shameless plugs, gotta love em. If anyone deserves a shameless plug, it's you, Trey. I might've done it once, but now I got free advertising from Black Hand, which is amazing and very flattering. So if you wanna see an advertisement for my fan fic, just look up Black Hand. The easiest way to do that is probably by checking out his fan fic, "The Tale of Sethyas Velas". It's in his signature. On other news, I recieved last year's yearbook. Our school is messed up, they don't finish the year's yearbook until the start of next school year. The point of the yearbook is to get it at the end of the year and have all your friends sign it. That's kinda hard to do when you're in your graduating year so most of the students you want to sign it have all ready left school! It's still a very nice yearbook though, just disappointing that I can't get signatures for it...

Yeah, thats how it is at my school too.... I end up not getting my book signed because i get it after school and forget to bring it back to school. I know why they do it though, they want to get the graduation pics and the like in.

There should be some new Trey material for those who are reading the story (shameless plug)/. Hope life is treating everyone well.

QUOTE(Zarrexaij @ Sep 11 2006, 09:07 PM) I hate The Scarlet Letter.
That book goes on and on about details that mean absolutely nothing.
If you tell me that they mean something, you are wrong.
now now... details are quite important I think i've read that book, not sure though... all the books teacher's tend to give you either smear together or fade from existance... *shrug* might just be me though. I'm quite odd (as i've found out on many occasions) -- cheers, i'm off ps. it can't be that bad... can it? okay now i'm off... (sucks to be hyper...)

Well after about a 6 or 7 month hiatus, my modem has decided to go on the fritz again! I have no idea why, the day before yesterday it was working fine, then yesterday night BOOM! My modem just cuts out every 5 minutes, slowing down my internet use to a crawl, with many "There's a problem with loading the page" messages. Maybe my phonelines are wonky; I guess that's supposedly a reason why it does this. But there were times when I had months of this terrible "connection". So hopefully this will not be the case and it actually is the phonelines or else I will be very frustrated with my internet use for awile until things seem to "magically" fix themselves. The only change I've made recently was install two older Blizzard games, Starcraft and Diablo 2, and used B.net for them. But the modem was working fine with them for at least 1 and a half to 2 weeks. Any other suggestions of reasons why my modem is doing this would be nice. In other news, I guess over the weekend I broke a hinge to one of my customer's rear window/trunk. My manager was able to make the customer happy but I got a little lecture about it. At least he didn't sound angry. I guess I'm going to be closing trunks more carefully from now on...

QUOTE(Ibis @ Sep 12 2006, 08:52 PM) Oh good luck with your A+ test, dear Milanius. I hope it is the official test and that you get your certificate. Cain has done so much with his A+ Hardware Certificate - it opened so many doors to him. He hopes soon to get his A+ Software Certificate as well. Good Luck QUOTE(treydog @ Sep 12 2006, 09:19 PM) Mil- Good luck with the A+- that can really be a boost to job prospects.
mplantinga- Hang in there and get it written- I spent 5 years with my "A.B.T."- because I was blocked about writing the darned thing. Had 2 chapters done and the other 3 laid out- just could not write. Not a recommended way to go.
Guys it's a test to determin will I be approved to take the course for A+... but thanx anyway. It's 12:24 I hope I'll get some sleep... the nervousness...

QUOTE Basic computer training, eh? What a complete waste of time. If being able to get a job that pays 16-18 dollars an hour after all that A+ crap, that's one hell of a complete waste of time.

On-topicness, dear Zarrexaij - we were talking about 'the Absolutely basic PC User knowledge Course' - the kind of numbing crap during which lecturer tells you the difference betwen Save and Save As commands >< now, Serviceman training requires that I have some sort of authentication that I have basic computer [PC User] knowledge, so I could take it on the expence of State... THAT course, the PC Serviceman one, is definetly not a waste of time. I took that test today. It was a sham, really, questions about 'hardware' and 'software' and whatnot they will eventually decide themselves who's going to attend the course and who's going to be rejected. We'll see.

Well just as abruptly as my problem came, it seems to have vanished. My modem is working fine now (hopefully I don't jinx this! ). All I did was uninstall the games that utilize b.net and gave it about a day or two and it seems to not have the disconnect problem anymore. My frustrations are gone for the moment, though later tonight I have a lot of chemistry to do and I need to find some time for studying for my hardware/software test in programming. We didn't have to do this kind of stuff last year, but with a new programming teacher comes a new style, ohwell. I am sure this knowledge is likely going to be helpful to me in the future...
