So the original Trey (the weiner dog), has a wound on his head (some sort of skin growth that got infected). After treatment, he had to wear a collar deal to prevent him scracthing the spot. But instead of one of those hard plastic "lampshade" ones, the vet gave him a softer, blue, floppy style. He looks like a furry frilled lizard. I promised him that we would not take pictures. (When you are 2 feet long and 6 inches high, diginity is important.)

Hang in there, Mil.

Welcome to stay at our house just an hour and a half or so from philadelphia tongue.gif. hope you enjoy your trip to the US. Comming here for business or just for fun?

And Treydog, dont worry, you probably look as rediculous as my cat when she got bitten by a racoon on the *erm* hind side *erm*. Well, Actually I know it sounds harsh but Im glad she got bitten. This is because she was an unsocial farmcat before we got her and this made her realize we're here to help. She became all social and nice after that tongue.gif

Trey is much better- now out of the "Elizabethan" collar. He is around 13 or 14- also an excellent dog. As I have mentioned before, I tend to name all my computer RPG characters after him....

We will be blasting off for a short visit to Savannah on Thursday and Friday- Grandparents' Day at the older grandson's school.

I have a hamster now. But I can't decide whether to name him Ulysses, or Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov Lenin, or something else.

How about Trotsky? Good name for a hamster.

Today is our reunion day in Germany. It's a day where we're supposed to celebrate the reunion of eastern and western Germany in the early 90s. Looking outside the window, I can't see anyone partying yet. Actually, I've never seen anyone party on this day. I wonder why that is?

Glad to hear you're enjoying yourself Minque! I can't wait to hear about the next place you visit.

And yes, it can be expensive visiting the US, sometimes you just need to splurge tongue.gif

Great to hear that you're having mucho fun, Minque smile.gif Soak up every little expirience and enjoy every moment.

I have formated a drive today and reinstalled Windows 98 SE operative system with some drivers and DX9 as a part of out PC manteinance training. It was fun, and I got a laugh out of the fact that people actually thought USB flash drives were going to work with Win98, without special drivers. tongue.gif We also got our free copies of a book called "How Computers Work" laugh.gif it might look silly, all illustrated and colorful, but it also has decent info and it's up to date [thank God], so it's all good.

edit: well, to be honest, I also laughed at myself a bit there, because for a second I forgot that Win98 SE doesen't support flash drives, eh... the power of habit tongue.gif

That's the end of my time in the army. 9 months that could have been invested in something else. Still, glad that it's finally over.

Rane: Woah, mate, you didn't mention you were in the army all this time ?! Tell more, please, I am interested [mostly because I wasted 9 months of life in similar way]

Yay! I am so happy for Rane. Now you have your freedom and can do what you want to do all day. I hope your time in service leads into some educational training, as it can here in the states. Irregardless, your time and experience in your particular job in the service should give you an advantage in the job market hopefully.

=========

Milanius, I am so glad to hear that there are good things coming from your educational experience. So good to hear that your book is up to date. Cain has been out of work for some time now and was lamenting about all the computer innovations and new operating systems that he is not experiencing first hand anymore. Gather all the information that you possibly can. Like you said, it's all good.

======

Minque, I'm so glad that you are enjoying your US visit. New York has that effect on me too ... too, too, too much of everything going on there! You have to excellerate up a few gears just to stay there. Michigan I know is a very nice place, full of friendly people. I was very young when we stayed in Detroit, but I have some fond memories of it. I can't wait to hear how the Smokey Mountains are at this time of the year!

What's there to tell? I was a MP, meaning I guarded a bunch of various objects/persons every now and then. The rest of the time was spent either hanging around in our unit's quarters or going through what a MP's duties are if our country goes to war. The latter mostly consisting of running around and in/out of buildings.

Aye, an' now I appreciate that freedom even more than before.

Well, I'm not really planning to look for a job in the security sector but who knows? If everything else fails, at least I should have something to resort to.
