It's not that great a song, just a classic for some reason.

Just wishing everyone a happy Turkey Day! Or Thanksgiving as it's normally called.

This weekend is the Canadian Thanksgiving, so you Americans don't give me no guff with saying "It's not Thanksgiving yet! That's at the end of November" tongue.gif

It's colder up here so we have it sooner, and it's nice because it goes hand-in-hand with Octoberfest, which is hosted in my hometown due to it's German roots (before WWI, the city's name was actually Berlin).
So beer and sausage for everyone as well!

I'm certainly going to enjoy this long weekend after I'm done work today.

Well I give thanks for family on Thanksgiving Day, I always go to my aunt's and visit with the rest of my dad's family on the Sunday of the long weekend (we would visit my mom's side, but they live all over Saskatchewan which is 2 days of driving). I believe the original thanks was for a bountiful harvest.

And for Black:

You've never seen me mention my Canadianism before? Doesn't my location under my avatar mention I'm in Canada? I'm gonna have to double-check but I think it is. Ohwell, surprise surprise! I'm Canadian!!!

Well have a very great Thanksgiving weekend, Metal Mallet. It makes sense that it would be earlier in Canada due to the colder weather, because above all else it is a harvest feast and is meant to give thanks for the bounty of the harvested crops that will get the community through the winter until next Spring's planting time again.

We here in the US give thanks (besides all the great food) for football and for the best shopping days of the year before Christmas. lol But really our family gathers together and gives thanks for each other and our good health and fortune, similart to Metal Mallet's family.

They can't be all bad. Rush is canadian!

On Thanksgiving :

I just give thanks for the enormous feast that is placed before me.

That's your argument? huh.gif

Anyway, here in Germany, we have a harvest thing, too. It's called "Erntedankfest". Only very few people actually celebrate it, my guess is mostly in rural areas where that kind of thing still has an actual meaning. At any rate, it's not a big thing at all over here. Definitely not as big as thanksgiving in the US.

Checkin' in, college is really busy, spending the week studying and having fun and barely coming back to the dorms on weekends.

Rush is certainly really cool. But I would also like to add maple syrup and hockey to what makes Canada sweet, that and health care.
