QUOTE(ShogunSniper @ Nov 30 2006, 09:42 PM) Veric
"A curious, maybe bored mage looking for an equal? But no, I am more wondering whether I have trully been released, or have I gone insane and this is but a dream?" Veric replied philosophically. For being completely isolated for twenty years he seemed to regain his wits rather quickly.
Sadril simply crossed his arms and leaned back against the wall.
Voltar"Yes, you've trully been released. Take a step outside if you wished; you won't end up falling into Oblivion or anything of that sort," Voltar said, deciding to answer the second part to Veric's question first. Voltar wasn't surprized that Veric merely "guessed" correctly why Voltar decided to release him. Of course, if he didn't decide to release him, he would've never discovered the Staff of Worldly Demise. That would've been most unfortunate to not possess.

Veric"I would very much like to know how you managed to release me," Veric asked, scratching his chin. "That staff seems to have a presence to it. And I see you used Sadril's amulet as a link of sorts. But tell me about this staff," he demanded, eyeing the pole. This post has been edited by ShogunSniper: Dec 1 2006, 03:54 AM

Voltar
Voltar held the staff carefully in his hands, much like a mother would cradle an infant. "This is the Staff of Worldy Demise. Since your banishment, I decided to spend the next 20 years in figuring out how to release you. I stumbled upon this tome over here," he said, gestering to the large book on his table.
"When studying the tome, I discovered a way to break through dimensions, actually multiple ways. But in order to do any of them, I needed a ancient staff known as the the Staff of Worldly Demise. It took me 10 years of searching to retrieve and I eventually found it lost with the ruins of Chimer city in Morrowind. The staff allows the user to enhance their abilities with mythicism and alteration to mind boggling heights, but it also works as a catalyst to the breaking down of dimensional barriers as described in the tome."
"I then spent the next 10 years studying the incantations and spell structures needed to perform the void spell. I planned to create a link across dimensions by scratch, since I had no possessions that provided such a link. Fortunately, I met your friend here, who possessed such a link through that amulet there. Using the link, I didn't have to figure out how to make one from scratch anymore, and I knew what do after that. So, I simply had to manipulate the link of your amulets, using the incantations and the staff to channel the power necessary to break down the barrier and create the void."
"Impressive work, is it not?" Voltar asked, finishing his long speech. When it came to magic, he could spend a good amount of time speaking about it.

"I didn't notice anything different." Rann replied from his comfortable position of laying down on the floor with his back propped up on the wall.
Speaking of magicka though, I'm going to have to test my newfound ability...
"But," he said with a yawn, obviously from not getting enough sleep the night before, "I know next to nothing about magicka so I wouldn't exactly be an expert."
Jonathan Constantine"Well I think I have a small affinity to magicka.. But not a liking at all.. Odd stuff. But who knows. Anyways whats the order of the day? A walk on the beach, a bit of wine, maybe some music?" He joked. This post has been edited by Channler: Dec 1 2006, 04:18 AM

Veric
"Impressive is an understatement. I was unaware any such artifact existed," Veric paused and eyed the staff. He decided that it would be his to command, one way or another.
"How is our empire fairing?" he asked to either person in the room while flipping through the pages of Voltar's tome.
"Progressing smoothly towards collapse," Sadril answered quickly before Voltar could. "Still no emperor."
"After twenty years?!" Veric exclaimed, slightly surprised.
Sadril shook his head, his arms still crossed, his back still against the wall.
"Might as well be a target then," Veric turned to Voltar, "Simis, what are you doing for the rest of your life? Looking forward to being bored as a mage too powerful for a decent challenge?"

"The library I believe." he said in answer to Jonathan. "We should probably get down there soon. What was that word again? Anyway, there's something else I want to research too, so don't be offended if I'm not all that into whatever it is we're supposed to be doing."
Jonathan Constantine"Well honestly I only think of myself as a hired blade. Not even sure why were here after all aren't we on a reconnaissance mission of the sort?" He propped himself up on the bar mindlessly playing with the hilt of his sword.

"I dunno. I guess Dalrus's word holds some kind of importance." He said absently, more focused on spinning the bloody dagger retrieved from the nord's eye on the tip of his finger.
"Anyway," he said, "We should get moving if we ever want to do the whole reconassiance thing."
Jonathan ConstantineJonathan extended his arm towards the door, "Lead the way your lordship.." And nearly keeled over as result. This post has been edited by Channler: Dec 1 2006, 04:45 AM

Voltar
"If what you're asking is to join in your service, I'll accept your offer," Voltar replied placidly, "I am getting a little sick of being cooped up in this shack."
Voltar began to grab a couple of things from various shelves. "I take it we're heading to the Imperial City?" He asked before something else dawned on him.
"Oh yes, there also seems to be another presense that might warrant your knowledge. Some being seems to be gathering followers to the east, I managed to trace the source to be in the Valus Mountains, so whatever it is possess some power to reach the opposite end of the province."
Flogir, Bloated Float
"So we're off to the library now, eh? This is going to be a blast!" he said sarcastically. He wasn't that much fond of books, sure they sold well, but he was never interesting in reading them.
He rose out of his seat and followed his companions.
OCC: I'm off guys, night!

Ian
As the group began to file out of the Bloated Float, Ian replied. "Well, the sooner we research that word, the faster we get to do something interesting with our younger companions. Who wouldn't want that?"
Then as an afterthought. "I actually like books, and Issac is quiete fond of them; carries about five around in that sack of his."
"Issac is already at the palace, and will probably meet us in the Library." then he realized some of the group might need to know something before venturing into the greatest repository of knowledge and lore in the Empire. "The library is guarded and mantained by blind monks, keep in mind not to speak to loudly or be noisome to them, they're trained in hand-to-hand fighting......."

Veric"The Imperial City we will reach first, then I shall look into this matter," Veric said, opening the door out into the night, but not yet stepping foot out into it. He looked at Sadril who was reaching down to gather up his amulet. "Still loyal to the end?" Veric asked sarcastically. "As long as you still pay me," Sadril shot back wiith equal sarcasm. The two shared a peculiar partnership. "Walking is so obsolete. I have a secured place to teleport to in the Imperial City. Shall we?" Veric finished and extended both hands. Sadril took hold of one and both looked to voltar to do the same.

Sodsa Hekal, inebriated (yeah he's been on auto pilot ) in the Bloated Float(right?)Sodsa saw a big group of people heading out the door, half of which looked strikingly similar to the other half. Sodsa rubbed his head and cursed under his breath. Sodsa made a sloppy grab for his bow and came close to breaking the string as he brought it over his shoulder as he stood up. Swaying a little, Sodsa stumbled over to the group and placed a hand onto Flogir's shoulder, "Sho, where are we goin now?" ooc: sorry for not being on. anyways, yeah, so i can't play drunk to well.... and yeah I can wait, i'm gettin' off anyways

Issac
Chancellor Ocato was flying through a large pile of parchment. Issac noted that he looked like he hardly had any sleep last night. But then again, he's been carrying all of Tamriel on his shoulders for the last nineteen years...... He thought to himself.
Ocato stood up shakily, there were sacs under his eyes, and his wrinkles had become more pronounced. "Chancellor, is there something wrong?" Issac asked concerned.
"All crime has ground to a screeching halt, but...... but." He yawned heavily. "But there are plenty of other matters to replace that one, make no mistake about that." Ocato's fatigue was painfully evident.
"It might be best if you spent some more time on sleep, sire. When you're deprived of sleep, you can't concentrate and things only get worse, then if you had just put the paperwork down to remain healthy." Issac consoled him, he'd learned to deal with things like this in his training but he doubted Ocato had learned the same lessons in his youth.
"Your right Issac, but there are some matters that you can't just put down for later." Ocato rubbed his eyes, sleepily. "Well, you could consider getting an assistant, then you could balance it out." Issac reasoned.
"Issac, I have about twenty advisors, but sometimes I have to deal with decisons because I'm taught to do so....." Issac could understand that, the life of an agent was (in a crude manor of interpretation) accomplishing things for other people.

Voltar
Voltar followed suit after Sadril and took Veric's other hand. He had his own ways of teleportation, but he didn't feel like chasing after Veric, since he would likely teleport elsewhere in the Imperial City.
He looked at the shack one more time. So much time had been spent toiling here. It was about time he could leave it. Keeping a firm grip of the Staff of Worldly Demise in his free hand, Voltar nodded to Veric that he was ready.
Flogir
"We're off to the Library to research that word. Hopefully that won't take too long as I have a feeling this will be a bit boring," he replied to Sodsa's question, making a sour face.
"Gah! You're breath reeks, Bosmer! Didn't decide to freshen up this morning?" he said in a joking manner. But indeed, the Bosmer's breath was terrible. Stale alcohol wasn't a nice smell.
