I'm sorry.. I'm all for treating animals nice and anything but doesn't treating animals, humane, seem a bit of an odd word choice?

After all, they aren't human, and we don't treat plants humane. Hell we walk on them!

Hehe, I find this amusing because this all started because someone mentioned hunting down a shark that attacked someone. My of my, how the topics swirl on this thread!

It's all good though, this stuff is interesting to read.

I'd have to agree with you MM.

But yeah, animals are animals... not people. they can be part of the family though... as an animal

I could never be vegan, since I really dislike beans and soy. I find meat to be highly efficient; large amounts of energy packed into a small volume. What could be better than that? (No offense intended to those of you who choose not to eat meat; I could just never be one of you).

Funny, my other daughter would totally agree with you! If she doesn´t get some meat she´d be crazy!

The weather outside is god-awful, it's foggy, dry and cold and my feet are half-frozen [and I have THREE pairs of socks on'em]... and I need more coffee, as always.

We have it all! Vegan-food and normal, it makes a nice mixture. All of the bread and cookies are made by my veggie-girl and they are pure delicious! tongue.gif

I just eat what tastes good. Most of the time... sometimes I'm forced to eat stuff I don't wanna.

I'll be grilling some chicken for dinner, shortly. I try to avoid red meat, for my health--can't say I'm particularly successful, though. I like bacon too much.

If I could afford to I'd buy local, organically-raised meats. I don't think that there is anything wrong with eating meat, but if I could I'd avoid mass-produced meat, because the animals are raised in poor conditions, and large animal confinement operations are environmentally destructive.

Being a carnivore isn't as easy as everyone makes it out to be.
