As I recall oblivion will not feature the ability to join the imperial legion, so I plan to make a mod to fix that sad situation though this will depend on if I get a computer to run it and if they have any specific reason for not including the imperial legion (I never go against the official lore). Obviously because the game is not released yet I have nothing solid but basically I was thinking about 3-4 quests to gain a rank but about 8-16 possible quests to do per rank, but complex tasks may count as more than one quest. The type of quests you do will depend on your rank of which I expect there will be about 8-10 of but in the main groups of militia (fighting type quests), guard (solving crimes to hunting down criminals) and champion.
At a certain point you will have the option being adopted into the order of a fort as a knight, you can only join one order and they will have a similar set up as guilds in Morrowind except it is for high level characters and it will have a larger impact on the game. Orders will include one which is your typical questing knight, a battle mage order, a stealthy archer order, an imperial cult order and 2 others which I am keeping secret. I will be looking to recruit people but not yet this is just to let people know what I am planning to do if anyone’s interested.

I´d be looking forward to a "join-the-imperial-legion-mod!"......So even if I can´t be of any help at all..I support the idea and would very much like to see it....if it doesnt mean any violation to the official lore of course! goodjob.gif

The Imperial legion was the only faction I ever joined in Morrowind and I was dissapointed when it was announced that it wouldn't be in Oblivion, I can't help with the mod but you can count on my download, when its finished. smile.gif

Hmm, does the whole "order" thing work with lore? Im no loremaster, but it seems like a large thing to add on to an already established piece of the TES universe. Since there will undoutably be an Imperial Legion in OB, just not in a joinable form, im guessing any faction mod for it will probably have to conform to what is already there. Same would go for an Imperial Cult mod.

Oh, and most of what I said in my Imperial Cult thread would apply here, since its the same basic concept exept Legion instead of Cult biggrin.gif. Therefore I strongly suggest you try and seek out other people planning to mod this, so we don't end up with duplicates.

Well a fort with a force of knights has an order of such knights, different forts have different orders and in most circumstances orders have their own personality. In morrowind Fort Hawkmoth was the only such fort because it was also the only castle and so the "Order of Ebonheart" named after the Castle Ebonheart rather than fort Hawkmoth is the only knightly order in Morrowind. However cyrodil being the captial province will most likely have more than one 'castle' and will logically therefore have more than one knightly order. I might have given the impression that I was knowing exactly what I was doing but really I'm waiting for the game. I will work with whatever is in game if there are forts I will use them but since there is no joinable guild I'm hoping there will be room to easily add onto those forts without adding conflict sort. I of course will also make new forts as long as it doesn't cause any trouble and there is reason for it being there, because making a new fort is much easier than trying to amend things already in the game and making random new NPCs around the place.

Thats pretty much the reason I posted this here. I (surprisingly) haven't heard of any imperial legion mods but if I post it here then people can come and swear at me for stealing their already developed idea or come join to make sure it gets done properally.

Well in that case, id be glad to help with dungeon creation and voice acting if you so desire, I like to think I can pull off a descent Imperialish voice (something your bound to need biggrin.gif), and I have access to some sound equipment too.
