Has anyone heard whether there will be any sort of damage indicator? Will you know how much damage you are inflicting? Will you know how much health enemys have left? That was one of my major complaints with Morrowind, you never knew how tough your opponents really were.

If you watch some of the oblivion movies, you see a small ring indicating the opponents health.

The ring merely shows the state of health your "target" is, but as far as I've seen there will be no numberindicators or similar telling you how much damage a specific hit did. Obviously this won't be implemented, it's just not Elders Scrolls.

Imo it's good how it is (in the films).

There was talk of changing the Enemy Health Indicator... but I don't know what changes have been made, or whether they've stuck to the Colourful ring... It's a really good way of showing the enemy health, actually... Not in the way, not out the way!

i think the health bar was easier because you know how much your weapon is going to take off after you swing two or three times. With a ring it just chages colour and you pretty much dont know how much more damage it can take.

As long as I get SOME idea of what sort of life an enemy has I'll be happy. It's frustrating when you're hacking away at something and you have no idea if you're ever going to kill it or if you need to just run like Hell.

It doesn't only change color, as you can see in the videos it also shortens down, just like a bar but circular instead.

And I also think that the way it has been shown to us is quite perfect, I like the fact that it's discrete but still easy to overview.

Like when I attacked Dagoth Ur in Morrowind without completing the main quest, before the times of Health bars when he took quite a pounding and I was just as invincible... then I realised he wouldn't die, so I just walked away until I'd done the quest.

That's exactly one of the times that I'm talking about. Or when you come upon some ancient ruins and start hacking at a Daedra and think you're doing really well. You might have been too, but it just hadn't hit you yet and when it does, you die. Not only is the health meter a good measure of how tough your opponent is, it's a good measure of how tough you are!
