Is ir just me or are simple creatures like goblins much better at blocking than me even though i am near journeyman...

eg i slash at them blocking with a dagger and my sword gets knocked back with me and i am momentarily stunned...

they slash at my SHIELD with a dagger and are not stunned at all (well very rarely)....

WTF!?

I've never had any problems with that at all, it's not always you get stunned if someone blocks - I think it's several factors that lead to that you're getting stunned, timing of when you/they bring their shield or weapon up for a block and what attack you're currently using...

But I don't think they're too good to block, a power attack usually pwns the weaker creatures like goblins and such, just overwhelm them with power and send the straight to the ground - Usually that's what happens with when I play...

If you think they are too good, just use the difficulty slider... smile.gif

maybe its the fact that i hardly ever use power attacks... cos they seem to alwaysget a hit on me if i do because i cant get my shield up quick enough... ill just save quick swipes for big creatures that you take time to bring down.

The chance of a knockback is affected by Agility. The lower your agility the more chance you get knocked back. Goblins are fairly agile if I rember correctly.

edit:

Try the forward powerattack when they are on a distance and not blocking, the backwards one when they lunge at you.
