I've been playing Oblivion and i am wondering what the best place is to sell my expensive items. I hope someone can help me with that.
Untill now I sell my loot to Thoronir in Market District because he has the maximum of 800 gold to give me for a item. I have items which are worth 5000 gold which i don't want to sell for 800.
Is there a shop or person who has a bigger purse then 800 gold? Or is there a way i can raise this number for Thoronir so he can give me more money for my items.
My disposition is already maxed, at 100% and i now haggle around 65%. So that isnt the problem.
I've looked in this forum and read something about investing in shops. Maybe i dont understand it right because it didnt work for me. I bought at Thoronir a item for example worth 3000 gold hoping he had more money to spend. After that he still has a maximum of 800 to spend to me.
There are several stores in the Market District that have more money than Thoronir. The better you mercantile skill, the more money they have. Additionally, how much the shopkeeper will give you depends on his mercantile and you mercantile and personality. Following is a list of shopkeepers that might help. My mercantile is 28 in my current game. I did Bruma cause that is where I was and I did the Market District. Have fun shopping!
Investing in shops is a skill perk for Master in Mercantile. You will have an option to invest money in each shop that will thereafter have that much more to buy your junk.

Indeed! Very useful list, you must have spent quite the time noting that info..
TomTom: You could also go one step further and find a mod that modifies the economy, I'm sure there are several. Or you could create your own super-merchant in the CS, it's quite easy, although you might consider that cheating.

Also, when your mercantile skill reaches a certain level you can sell all sorts of stuff to every merchant, even if they normally don't trade in those items. Not sure of the skill, either 25 or 50.
TomTom, you should try Borba's Goods and Stores in Cheydinhal. She has 1000 gold and will buy everything not stolen. For armor and weapons sales I like to go to the smith in Anvil, he has 1200 gold to spend.
