Hi guys! My name is Syradd, and welcome to the Journal/fic of my character Evalin. I've been playing Oblivion for a couple of years now and I've only gotten into roleplaying a few month's ago, and I must admit that it is a much more thrilling, exciting way to play. Now, to introduce Evalin. She was inspired by my absoloute favourite chatacter of the adventure genre. Although they share a similarity in this characteristic, overtime she has grown into her own person, and it's been a lot of fun being with her as she grows into her own strong, independent woman. So welcome to her diary. The following is somewhat of an introduction, a flavour of Evalin and what's to come with her adventure. I hope you enjoy!

Ahh, it seems I underestimated how much of my life I could contain with my previous diary. Tar-Meena offered me a new one, however. Hopefully this one should last a little longer.
I guess Ill introduce myself again; for all I know one day Ill be world famous and these diaries could be ancient artefacts. Haha, I can wish.
Okay, well my name is Evalin, although the A is silent, so its more Ev-Lin.. Im a Breton, my parents died when I was eighteen whilst I was already here at the Arcane University in the Imperial City, Cyrodiil.
I love to read, I find knowledge to be more powerful than a blade. Im skilled in most magicks, mostly Conjuration, Mysticism and somewhat restoration. Im not much of a fighter, you see.
Okay, I guess thats enough about me. It wasnt a lot but I guess youll find out more about me as I continue writing.
So where was I in my last diary Oh, yes, I remember now.
I am utterly convinced that there are still artifacts from the Ayleids' hidden in some of their temple ruins.
Although the stories have it that the temples are protected, and whoever enters and desecrates the ground can never leave, I find that to be utterly preposterous.
As I, for one, am not a bumbling, numbskull of an adventurer determined to desecrate ancient ruins with my obnoxious rampaging. I am certain that, should the temples be treated with respect, the curses (should there even be any) should not be a problem. All I want is to look around discover a few secrets.
Tar-Meena, however, doesnt think the way I do. She is certain that the temples should be left alone. She is so certain of danger and my safety. I find this rather frustrating if Im to be completely honest. She refuses to leave the University because she finds the outside world dirty and unnecessary does she expect me to share her views?
She just doesnt understand. Im twenty-three years old and in the five years Ive been here Ive never left the University for anything other than a quick book run.
I want to find something; I want to make my mark be remembered as something other than a glorified librarian.
I want adventure. I want to know that there is more to Cyrodiil than the life Ive been bound with.
Ive heard that there is a small Ayleid ruin nearby on a small island near the Imperial City; Vilverin. That will most likely be my first destination. I imagine I will have to sneak out of the University one evening so Tar-Meena doesnt guilt me into staying with her.
I guess Ill spend the evening creating a plan of action, but if all goes well I will most likely set out on my first expedition tomorrow.
Am I excited? Nervous? Terrified... Ill get back to you!

It is two AM in the morning. My fellow apprentices are all asleep, creating the perfect opportunity to sneak out.
Ive thoroughly planned my journey to Vilverin without being spotted. Although I couldnt just walk out of the university and nobody would bat an eyelid, I dont want anything getting back to Tar-Meena. I plan to be back before she wakes from her sleep but seeing as I have no idea what to expect from Vilverin I cant guarantee this!
Yesterday when I was on a book run for Tar-Meena I took the liberty to buy an Invisibility scroll from the Mystic Imporium, a store in the Market District. I plan to use it to remain undetected as I leave the comfort of home although I have no idea how I will sneak back it. I imagine I will have to cross that bridge when I come to it.
***
Vilverin is not how I expected it to be. Not at all.
My sneaking out plan was successful, thank the gods, and I followed my map to Vilverin. Although I had to cross a lake beside the prison, but luckily for me there was a boat I could use near the sewer entrance. But youre not interested in that! Haha.
From the outside Vilverin is a vision on beauty. A large, dazzlingly white marble structure crumbling with age but still standing beautifully strong. Near the ruin I could see a camp set up, but I didnt worry too much. I imagined that it was just a homeless person settling down.
So I entered the ruin, grabbing a torch attached to the wall. The inside was eerily silent, not to mention pitch black. The sound of dripping water was quietly singing in the distance, but despite these minor setbacks the area was beautiful. There were small beams of unexplained light luminating small portions of the room I was in, which highly intrigued me. Maybe this was the result of some ancient Ayleid magic used to create artificial light? It was fascinating.
So, as obviously I was mesmerized by the entrance room, I decided it would make more sense to traverse deeper into the ruin.
Thats where the trouble began.
As I walked along toward a second set of stairs leading even deeper, I was spotted by somebody. A man, wielding a large axe. He was hiding in the shadows. He glared at me for a moment. But without even a warning he ATTACKED ME! Luckily I managed to evade his attack. I used my only source of defence; summoning my Skeleton Guardian. I did this, and my Guardian fought the man; easily overwhelming him with a deadly blow to the head.
With the mans corpse crumpled before me I slumped onto the ground. What had just happened? I didnt come to the ruin to fight but I was forced to. I had become one of those bumbling, nave adventurers I was so against. It was evident to me that the camp outside belonged to these, I guess Bandits. There was no doubt going to be more of these bandits in the ruin; desecrating this beautiful place with their hunt for treasure.
I sighed. Although this was a major inconvenience, I wasnt ready to give up on my expedition. I shall travel further, facing whatever I have to face to achieve my goal. I just pray I dont get killed in this place.
But I have something these bandits obviously dont; a brain.
Ill write more when I have a chance, as for now I need to continue with my expedition.

I like the way you've managed to give her quite a lot of character in just two short diary entries. She's not totally impulsive; she plans things before she does them. On the other hand, her planning isn't very well informed, as she's headed out without any backup to her skellie spell. Something minor to handle mudcrabs would have made sense. Perhaps a dagger, or absorb health spell? Maybe that bandit has something smaller than his axe. Her fascination with the Ayleids is obvious from the way she almost got stuck in the first room, captivated by the lighting. However, I'm having a hard time believing she's a five-year student at the Arcane University, studying with Tar-Meena at the Mystic Archives especially, and she can't spell Ayleid, or use semi-colons correctly!
