New Oxm, With nice new info Options

In the new OXM they have released the following info:

In a certain quest you anger a diety into making flaming dogs rain from the skies.

On the Xbox Live marketplace (with xbox live credits, I don't know if you have to buy credits or if you earn them another way) you can buy a horse armor add-on to make your horse match your character and give him some protection, and a Event add-on which features holidays like jester's day where everyone gethers in the Town center and listens to a guy in a jester's hat. You get a skill point for paying attention. Also, fines are 50% off that day.

They gave a walk-through of their experience in Chorral. First they put their horse in a stable, then walked toward the gate where a guard stopped them to fine them for goods they stole, and they went to the County Jail for a few hours. A drunk guy complained about his mistaken identidy, and a new journal entry was added. They asked for a room in the Grey Mare but couldn't afford it so they went upstairs and lockpicked a room. They went to fighters guild to join and ended up accidentally awaking the sleeping men. The Chapel of Stendarr, the big chapel you see in the screenshots, is located in Chorral, as well as that cottage from earlier screenshots. They went to the chapel for some blessings. After that two dogs were seen running by, obviously belonging to this family everyone calls the dog family. Journal entry added. Finally they overheard a guy named Valus Odiil talking to an elven woman about his two sons, who were looking for help battling creatures that had overtaken their farm. They talked to him, and he begged for help, new journal entry added.

Description of Chorral: The entire city is surrounded by a short wall. It looks sort of rectangular, but is more rounded and uneven. It's on the foot of a summit, and looks to be surrounded by a thin forest that thickens up at certain spots. The county jail looks like it doubles as the Capitol and sits in the upper right corner of the city. To the left of that there are some crowded buildings that look like the market place, and left of that there is the Chapel of Stendarr. South the Chapel filling up the rest of the city are residential houses. It looks approximately 1.5 times the size of Balmora, maybe 2 times.

Cheydinhal is BEAUTIFUL. There's this cool looking bridge you have to take over what looks like a calm river. The Water is extremely active and can be anything from gently moving along to a waterfall crash on the banks.

Many of the cities are radically different from each other. For instance the western side of Anvil looks like a laid back port town with some terracotta roofs and guards wearing more rustic armor, the feeling is much more laid back while in the business district of the Imperial city it's very crowded.

There are over 150 quests, which does not seem like a whole lot, except that many of them are quite extensive. Many are just errands but there are a few that will stick out. When you investigate the disappearance of a painter, for instance, you find his unfinished painting in his studio, and upon touching it, are sucked in a dungeon that looks... like a 3d water color painting. You have to find him and have him paint you both an exit. It'll take roughly 200 hours to see every little thing that needs to be seen, including all 200 dungeons, 150 quests, 121 plant types, more than 400 books, the list goes on.

the painting quest sounds fun, but somehow doesnt seem very elder scrolls-ish...but it will probably turn out alright. and i say the same for the raining flaming dogs. that seems a bit far-fetched.

The opening dungeon works like this. You escape the prison with the emperor and have to defeat assassins and get through other obstacles, and then near the end the emperor dies and the last guard breathing suggests a class for you based on what you did.

When in jail you have 3 choices: Sleep out your sentence and sacrifice a skill-point, lock-pick your way out of there or pick-pocket from a guard.
