thanks for the comments so far smile.gif to do metal-reflections is quite fun to do but I usually find it a bit complicated to give it a realistic look

In photoshop you can add layers, adjust their transparency (aka Alpha) and alter how they appear on the layer below (many options, one of which is mulitply)

Then on this layer you concoct a chrom/metallic-esque tecture/image.

Then once you have the parameters right, you can just soft-erase the layer as you see fit until the image looks how you want it to.
