It's the reward for completing the Daedric shrine quest for Nocturnal.

Nocturnal's Shrine is at the end of a short dirt path leading East and starting at the Yellow Road, a ways North-northeast of Castle Leyawiin.

Take out your paper map. The shrine is directly South of Lake Poppad, and equidistant from the initial letters "c" and "l" in "County Leyawiin." If you need the marker, chat up someone in the Leyawiin Mages' Guild.

The skeleton key is way uber and cheap IMO because it's equivalent to an indestructible lockpick and it increases your security skill by 40 when it's in your inventory.

Can it open any door or is it just an unbreakable lockpick?

Im guessing unbreakable lockpick. Now you can press instant try over and over again for a couple million times to open a very hard lock. Unless it opens anything in which case I will be very happy.

No, it's just an indestructable lockpick.

So you press auto until the lock opens. Quick, easy, cheesy.

Agreed. It makes taking Security as a Primary totaly useless.I have taken Security as a promary,+ i have security bonus as Argonian, and now it seems like a mistake.
I would like it to be an inderstructible lockpick, but not have any bonus to Security. It would seem fair that way.

I got it. Now my battlemage can finish the blind moths temple quest. Or anything else. Without open lock spells. Which I have up to hard lock for doors. Now Im poor.
