Hope this isn't a repeat post.

Any info on whether mods being created now will work after Oblivion's patch comes out? Best to wait for it, then apply mods?

Thanks.

Nobody knows, neither the modders i think.I mean:We don't know what will the next patch include. However i'm 99,99% certain that the new patch will work with official Horse Armor mod.

But this is just my humble opinion.

To my knowledge, there was never a problem with the Morrowind mods not working after patches ... so let us hope that this will also be true of Oblivion.

But Morrowind Oblivion certainly is not .... and I don't say that in a good way, I'm afraid. I for one, would have waited awhile longer until the bugs could have been worked out of Oblivion and some more Morrowindish type content that seemed almost - well vital - levitation, gloves, throwing weaponry = = = could have been tested and added.

Perhaps Oblivion will grow on me or even better, after Beth settles the question of which max from Discreet to hook up with Obliv, maybe some cool modders and modelers will bring good MW content to us in Obliv. Hope so ...... blink.gif

Thanks for your replies. Sounds promising, but clearly the proof will be in the patch itself, which rumor says will arrive any day now.... smile.gif

The mods would almost definately work with the patch, so need to worry there. Or else Bethesda would have stopped the modders before now. smile.gif

Of course, there never will be levitation due to seperate city cells.

Not officially, at least.

If you modded in a script-effect Levitation spell, I wonder if you could write a few scripts to check the player's position, and if they were "sufficiently over" a city, move them to an equivalent position in the city cell, and vice-versa to return them to the outside. Sure, you'd see the LOD of the city pop and people appear when you go from looking at the low-fi world version to the full city-cell version, but I personally could live with that...

I've been missing levitation as well, but as I've been playing through several quests I see that many of them would have been quite too easy if you could levitate, like those caves with several levels where you have to search for the stairs, not to mention in Oblivion.

So I guess this is another reason we will never see levitation put in by the developers.
