How have you managed to keep your Infamy so low? My character has touched only one of the Dark Brotherhood quests and completed the Thieves Guild quests, and my Infamy is at 30. I guess the last few Thieves Guild quests boost your Infamy a lot.
I'd have completed a lot more of the game, but I've remade my characters dozens of times, getting annoyed with a small thing here or there. I'm kinda picky like that.
Anyway, my Fame is also in the mid 40s, having completed the Arena, and touched a few quests here and there for the Fighters Guild and Mages Guild.
Since I have the 360 version, I can't get any of the sweet mods for the PC, so I've been trying to level to 30 before diving into the quests that provide leveled items as rewards, because it's annoying having your gear become useless as you progress in level. I suppose it is 'the way of things,' but it's still annoying.

QUOTE(The Klise @ May 15 2006, 08:34 PM) How have you managed to keep your Infamy so low? Well I have no idea really. I thought it was normal. Screenshots (stats were a bit off from my last post, so I have a bit higher infamy): I don't kill people unless I'm required to do so, and I always use full chameleon when I do, so that no one sees me. Do you guys run around and kill people for fun? Also I don't steal stuff. I've stolen a few expensive items so that I could get Thieves guild missions. Not sure why it says I've stolen 5044 items, as I've definitely not stolen that much. Maybe gold counts? I've stolen some gold... Actually for my next game I'll try more real roleplaying, and avoid the Dark brotherhood and Thieves guild, and see if I can hold infamy at 0. Should be interesting.

Hehe yeah I sneak most of the time. Think my sneak is closing 90 points or something ( edit: sneak was 96 when I checked later). I have a horse, but don't use it except for storing stuff in (using the saddle-bag mod), as I like sneaking around in the countryside when I'm outside. When I meet people they often tell me "you're a sneaky looking sort!" or something... I did go to jail once to be able to complete a quest, but all I did to get there was to steal a knife or plate or something in front of the guard. Guess that was too little to trigger a bounty? Of course my 100% chameleon gear is helpful when killing. I try to stop using it as I consider it a bit cheat'ish, but I'm addicted... Anyway since I'm a mage that slightly justifies it... on the character i've put the most work into- fame: 154 infamy: 59
completed: all factions, 3/4 misc. quests (i think), all shrine quests, main quest
the guards still hate me all the time though.

Hmm... Completed the Thieves Guild quests and infamy went up 10 points... (now have 129 fame and 40 infamy). I wonder if I should reload just before I completed it and save quest for the end of the game. Are the any serious negative aspects of having high infamy besides the guards yelling at you? I just did the thiefs quild quest to reassign Lex.During the whole mission i didn't get any infamy points. After talking to the countess and etting the orders my infamy was 11.Then i talked to the steward for my tip (20 gold) and my infamy went up 2 pts because I had helped Lex getting reassigned costing her cousin the position...That 20 gold wasn't worth the infamy points. Had i not gone further with other quests i would reload and try not speaking to the steward at all and avoiding the infamy points if possible (Euhm...this isn't a spoiler...is it?)
I am guessing it also affects prices?People won't like you much with high infamy and they will react less to you (thus prices going up?)

QUOTE(Olav @ May 19 2006, 02:02 PM) But I think I've read somewhere that if you have a high infamy rating bandits will start liking you more, though, and maybe not even attack you. Wow, that would be neat. My assassin character has at the moment infamy at 9 and fame at zero. So maybe those bandits will leave her alone soon enough then
