When i find a game i really like, i will play over and over again. I did that with gothic 2. I played a fighter , then a mage, and finally a mercenary. Still like the damn thing too...

What do you think of oblivion? Would you put it aside for some other game or would you make it your one and only...you precious!?

I must say that i like this game... but up to now not enough to play it all over when finished.Besides you have seen it all after the first time (unlike Gothic 2 which had different missions and plots for each guild).

So...vote away! biggrin.gif

Well I voted option 2. I love Oblivion, and I've already started over once, but that was mainly because I had scr***d up my first game by using console cheats to increase skill points.

The things that still keeps me going are the quests I haven't finished yet. When I'm finshed with all quests I see no reason to keep playing, unless some mods come along to keep me going.

I will, however, start a new game later when I've played some of the other games I have that are 'waiting in line', and then I will probably start with a special character who will only do good things (no Dark Brotherhood or Thieves Guild), and again I hope there will be lots of great mods/expansions out by then so I will feel I'm playing a new game... smile.gif

The atmosphere, graphics and sounds are certainly good enough for me to come back for more, but the quests aren't.

At first I played it like mad. 130 Playing hours just flyed over. Right now i have about 200, but i rarely play Oblivin at all. There are some mods that make it less boring for me, like G_'s loot mod (harder to gain any kind of a strong weapon), and a slow leveling mod. When i started playing these mods, turned the music off, and installed BT mod....only then I really started enjoying this, otherwise Vanilla-like game smile.gif

I wonder when will the expansion set be published...

My first character was poorly created. Also, I used the Dorian glitch to get oodles of cash but couldn't live with myself for that so I killed that character off and created another. About 130 hours into that character, the game got way too glitchy. My kids didn't have the same kind of problems so I correctly assumed it was something that I had done in the game making it glitchy. My newest character is going slow, one quest at a time but will be playing it until I have done everything I can think of to do in the game. BTW, I still have the Amulet of Kings and will be saving that until I finish just about everything else. I love the game.

I plan (when I get it) not to do like I do in Morrowind. Which is power game my way through by finding everything out with one character and then take advantage of it in my next character (when I discovered Sunder was a Uber hammer I made a new guy pro-star in Blunt Weapon)

This time, in Oblivion, I'm going to truely Rp and live a *ahem* 'normal' Life without cheating, just wander and do what seems right.

Oblivion is kind of like a romantic relationship. First of all there is all the frenzy and oogling, then you've got the smiles of witty dialogue as you gaze longingly at each other, then you go on adventures and have a magical time, oblivious to the fact that your entire life is now revolving around each other. You go all hot and heavy for a few weeks, and then you reach a natural level where you really can go no further. Sure, you start changing things around to spice up the relationship, but gradually you see each other less and less, before eventually you find that there is something else you've got your eye on. So, you start making tenative approaches at that, and before you know it Oblivion has been shelved in that folder of your PC reserved only for the 'occasional' play, and you start the process over again.

Maybe in a few months you'll wonder 'what if?' and restart, and you'll have the joy all over again breifly, but it's never as good as the first time.

Im already bored of Oblivion. Sadly enough. I actually have more fun playing morrowind.

Exactly. Morrowind had the neatest atomosphere. You felt like you were exploring something new. I would go exploring from town to town just to see what it looks like.
In oblivion everything is about the same. Each dungeon seems the same, each forest seems the same. Each enemy seems the same. Each town looks the same. The game feels the same
Oblivion is great, but overrated. Like Ipods, I like ipods, but they are overrated.

In my opinion, morrowind is more fun.
