Well, I think you have all been wondering about it, so I decided to make a thread about all of it, so I could know other people opinions. I just think there is no 'we'. We are ONE life form, ONE particle. Some of our parts sometimes die, and sometimes born again. Because If we take a single person, he's nothing, but a bunch of atoms... We all are. And the whole world is. Well we don't know much things about it, but i hope we'll know something soon. Maybe it's for playing this, or just having some fun. Well, I'm waiting for your opinions, I hope you understood my point.

Why there is something instead of nothing: Infinite potential desires to manifest itself. As far as Oneness and the source of consciousness goes, here are a couple of videos that I found helpful. : Autopoetic EvolutionThis has one of the best esoteric thinkers of our time talking about how in the Eastern religions, God was not a force outside creation, God was creation. Existence starts as pure consciousness, and this consciousness slowly develops and densifies into energy and later matter. Modern western society is ingrained by Christianity and yet has chosen to take God out of all intellectual thought even though his existence is the basis for our entire culture. This is a very, very good interview if you can get over the creepy host. Global Brain Pt1Global Brain Pt2Global Brain Pt3Global Brain Pt4These were done in like '82 and the guy claims humanity would reach global thought processes by 2000. Obviously he's wrong. There's other good ideas that make you re-evaluate this thing we call our self. It's also got the best argument I've seen for environmental sustainability wrapped up in the first 10 minutes. A man once asked the Buddha, "How does one escape the heat of the summer sun?"
And the Buddha replied, "Why not try crawling into the blazing furnace?"

Yeah, since by then we won't really give a crap about what we've just abandoned.

QUOTE(DoomedOne @ Aug 8 2008, 09:55 PM) Lol zeitgeist meant for truth seeking 4 year olds.
Well I agree the film is a bit paranoic, but did you even watch it?

-_- I didn't say it was paranoic, I don't even think that's a word.
I said it's immature. It's simplified, it's sophomoric. It's conclusion jumpage to the 5th degree. The amount of thought and research put into it is equal to a 5th grade history project and it circulates the web as this epic truth revealing movie. Honestly, it doesn't touch the surface of research about Jesus Christ, and the makes a claim he did not exist. Did he ever bother to read a gnostic text? He got the information he wanted off of mythology from wikipedia or something and then made a "great discovery" from it. Religious scholars have known most of the Jesus myth was just a biproduct of a new religion being integrated into an old culture, there's othing new there.
I like part 2 about the Federal Reserve. I guess it can appeal to most people who know nothing about this stuff and get bored easily so they want a simple explanation they can understand like whe Discovery Channel insults M Theory with its disgusting representation meant to shock and mystify but for those of us really trying to learn something about the universe, it's not the way to go.

Thats a little too much to think about for me. I just think we should live our lives to the best ability that we can and be done with it since we all die anyways.

QUOTE We've all already existed for infinity We have not existed infinitely. "This" and "that", self and other are all mind-made illusions. Existence exists, and that is all that exists. Know that truth without words, and there will be nothing left to know.
