Seeing recently many many sites and pages of data about Tamriel, involving its history, theology, social structures and everything else, It would be honest to say I`m overwhelmed. However, I`ve been thinking not only about Tamrielic lore, but also the whole Nirn as a complete world. Sure, there are very interesting an wacky things happening all across Tamriel that provide enough material for another 4 TES games in the future, but what if (just IF) we could observe whole Nirn as one simple planet with 2 moons, its regular continents, seas and oceans ? If it was so, one should also have to start looking at other places in Nirn, in this case Akavir. Now, there might be more lore on that misterious place, which (in my opinion) vaguely resembles Far East (tiger-dragons ??), but the only thing I found was that small book in MW, "Misterious Akavir", and some stuff in Imperial Library. I, for one, would like to hear more, MUCH more, about this strange, exotic and dangerous place, which deserves at least one TES game in the future, In My Humble Opinion.
So, what do you think - should there be a TES N: Akavir (N is any number between 5 and infinity) one fine day ?

I was aiming more on development of the Akavir Lore, and an RPG which would actually take place there, and not on Tamriel ?

Well of course it would be worth exploring, but is it diverse enough to make a game out of? Thats the question.
I mean, its absolutely possible to include the Akivar into the game Lore, but basing a game around that one specific Lore may not produce enough mileage.

Well, we have 4 races there, more or less fighting all the time, which is a good starting point... how about a tamrielic expedition which brings our hero there ? Or, maybe even a chance to play such game as a member of those brave monkey-warriors ? From what I`ve read, they really have it rough... but they`re holding ground nevertheless - that could be the spark for the story - the unwilling/unknowing hero who comes from Tamriel to their aid:
"Across the distant seas adventurer from the world beyond came
to defend our lands alongside us and gain eternal fame
and trough his bravery and trough all the fights he bore
Saviour gained place in our hearts now and forever more..."
(tiger-dragons ??)
Let me enlighten you brother, once on the foreign shores of Akavir there were men, dragons, snow demons, goblins and many other races. Some of these races died from wars. One of these races, the tiger people, respected the mighty dragonsof Akavir. So when the golden vampire lizard peoples (ach, forgot their name!) started killing of the dragons for their blood, the tiger people took action. There was a great war, and in the process the dragons were destroyed. Both sides had devestationg losses. The tiger people wished to bring back the dragons, and eventually one of them became a dragon. I don't know how they did this though, it makes me so sad

Just as a note, I think it'd be a alrge project for developers to start writing lore for akavir, but a great project for future game. I'd like to see it happen slowly, because they write about the world as they go along really, so for the next one it's be great if ships started coming into the big port cities trading with Akavir and the crews of these ships would mixed races of both continents so you could find some very interesting characters, and some nice goods in these port cities. Obviously there would be a few akavir-born people living in this port cities as well, it'd be nice look at how cultures reac tto each other. Maybe, and this is a long shot, you could get a job on a trading ship so you could stop and see one single port city in Akavir.

QUOTE(DoomedOne @ Aug 18 2005, 01:39 AM) Just as a note, I think it'd be a large project for developers to start writing lore for akavir... One of the good things about the Elder Scrolls system is that the lore is largely flexible and can be extended by its fanbase. Whilst they'd have to add a certain amount of input, it wouldn't be as hard as creating an entirely new, fully fledged fantasy world, because of the info they can look back on for previous projects.

chains the Shadowsworn to his will,
from the city, lost and forsaken,
leads the spears to war once more,
breaks the spears and makes them see,
truth long hidden in the ancient dream.

But we may have a certain amount of lore once we get to Elder Scrolls N: Akivir.

As soon as they make a Morrowind/Oblivion style game that takes place in Summerset Isle, then Black Marsh, then Skyrim, then Hammerfell, then Ellyswyre (sp?), then one in High Rock, and then finally a first person 3D game that takes us all across Tamriel, and the developers make up for the lost time while we were off exploring Akavir with the Tamriel time line, sure. Until we've explored the entire continent in first person 3D, no.
As far as I'm concerned, TES is all about Tamriel. Akavir only exists so the rest of the world makes sense. After 9 games, you have to have some background info on the entire world. Making Tamriel a little Island in the middle of nowhere would be a mistake.

QUOTE(Daikirai @ Sep 15 2005, 09:23 PM) As far as I'm concerned, TES is all about Tamriel. Yes, we know Anyways who cares if they do one about the Akavir... I mean I don't see the TES games getting any smaller so I think they could incorporate some large scale landage..
