DOOMSDAY 2012! OMFG FTW Options

What do you think about the claims of the Mayan Calender predicting that there is an impending doomsday on Dec.21st 2012. Personally I think it's all just a bunch of non-sense just like Y2K was, but I am just wondering about other opinions and what not.

I think the 2012 thing is a load of gobshite. The end of the world will happen when it happens. Whether it's tomorrow, five years from now, five billion years from now when the sun explodes, or the second I'm done making this post, there's nothing I can really do about it. It's a lot like dying - don't be afraid of it and you'll turn out fine. The best way to "prepare" for it is simply to live your life as virtuously as possible.

In all honesty, the Jhovah's witnesses thought the world would end some time in the eighties apparently. That still hasn't happened, and the eighty were twenty years ago. The point is that however much you can analyse and interpret old writings, it'll just happen when it happens (next saturday, just after tea-time, to be precise ). The plus side is that we'll either all be dead or completely incinerated instantaneously by a massive burst of radiation from the sun or something like that.

My personal theory is that it's gonna be zombies. Lots and lots of zombies...
