Seriously Kiln, complete it. When you finish it you unlock the best mode ever.
And the last levels are pretty damn awesome too.
I swear, that machete is
blunt, not so it doesn't cut, but to increase the amount of (searing, godawful)
pain.
(Last level... thing.)

That said, I've been playing Mechwarrior 4 recently. In fact, I just finished the campaign a couple of hours ago. Now I love robots but to be honest, the Mechwarrior franchise doesn't seem to be my thing. It's good enough to waste a few hours on when you're bored and really need your GIANT ROBOTS!!! fix, but I just can't help but feel somewhat disapointed every time. The mecha are just too damn clunky and act more like a mobile fortress with a serious lack of firepower, than a hotshot state-of-the-art superweapon of the 31st century.
My feelings about the mech-stomping games is the opposite...
MechWarrior 4 is actually my least favorite of the series, feeling way too cartoony, but Mechwarrior 3, is honestly the best giant-fighting robot game I've seen, especially when you edit up a mech that has 14+ killer weapons, and you can watch the locked-on LRMs that you shot at the sky hurtle down onto the suspicious enemy. Armoured Core 4 feels too much like a Japanese anime, where your supposed to just dodge around while flying, and watch missles pointlessly explode around you*.
* (Although it does make me nostalgic for the old Gundam game, in which when you have LOCK-MODE off, it really does feel like one of those animes, where they've never heard of Heat-seeking, guided, fire-and-forget, or any combination there of. Honestly, it's the best way I've ever seen to TRY and hit something. )
