With 2009 looming around the corner, I figured it'd be fitting to start a topic about what RPGs the citizens of Chorrol are looking forward to. Since release dates change faster than a hummingbird beats its wings, we'll include all games and not just the ones expected for a 2009 release.

Let's kick this off then.

Dragon Age
While the newest released footage and tidbits of Bioware's upcoming title doesn't exactly thrill me, I'm still looking forward to see what will become of this one. Supposedly set in a dark, gritty setting filled with mature themes, it at least sounds good on paper.

Age of Decadence
"The Age of Decadence is an isometric, turn-based, single-player 3D role-playing game set in a low magic, post-apocalyptic fantasy world, inspired by the fall of the Roman Empire. The game features a detailed skill-based character system, non-linear gameplay, multiple skill-based ways to handle quests, choices & consequences, and extensive dialogue trees."
'nuff said.

And lastly, Obsidian's Aliens RPG (doesn't have a page of its own yet; link leads to its forum section). This one's got me intrigued for simply using a setting I wasn't expecting to see used in a RPG. I have to admit, I barely know anything about it beyond the odd remark from the designers working on it. Expecting to see some actual information released once they finish up and release their espionage RPG, Alpha Protocol.

I also have Dragon Age, and while I did enjoy the first couple play-throughs, it doesn't have the staying power that I hoped it would have. Already, I find one part so annoying that it keeps me from starting a new character, or stops said character dead in his tracks when he reaches that part. Still, I have enjoyed it, and I don't feel like it was a waste of money, it just doesn't hold a candle to Morrowind.
