Morrowind.
When I was introduced to it I was going through a hellish time in real life. So, I would come home from school and play. It was so immersive that I would forget all about everything. I would spend every free moment with that game. Even in school, I would spend time drawing my character or making to-do lists... It got me so hooked that I actually began seeing cliff racers in the sky. No other game got me hooked that way. And none have done it since.
Exactly the same here, I used Morrowind like a drug, it was the ultimate escape from reality for me and while I was running around in the ash storms and getting lost due to bad directions from NPCs I got completely engulfed in another world. It was the only game I've ever played to that extent in my entire life and most likely will be the first and last game to do so.
He who fights with monsters should be careful lest he thereby become a monster. And if thou gaze long into an abyss, the abyss will also gaze into thee. - Friedrich Nietzsche
