For those unaware, Notch is the creator of Minecraft.
I am a little bit disheartened about Todd's comment on how they are making the dragons specifically so the player CANNOT ignore the main quest (as I know many people here do that for Oblivion), but I'm going to reserve judgement because those things look like great fun to do battle with if the demo is anything to go by.

To me, the whole reason I want to play an open world RPG game is so I can pick and choose what I want to do in it. I really don't like the idea of the main questline being jammed down my throat whether I like it or not, that takes away all the aspects of "open world RPG" IMHO.
I don't see how you can role play when someone else is calling all the shots on how you should do it - same thing with the fics. These things are supposed to be what our own imagination dictates, not what others think it should be.
In both Fallout 3 and Oblivion I avoided the main questline as best as possible till I had done everything I wanted to do and there was nothing left to do but it. I loved the main questline for Oblivion, but may not have had it been crammed onto me.
