When did you start to play Oblivion? Options

Welcome to my first poll here at chorrol!

I started my cyrodilic journey in Februari 2007. I was fresh home from the horrors on Mars where I battled demons from Hell which really wasn´t my thing. So coming to Oblivion was absolute Bliss which is kind of ironic as Oblivion is the name of Hell in Cyrodiil
I have kept playing it ever since with only a few games in between. It´s as someone once said; "You don´t stop playing Oblivion. You just take various long breaks."
This truly is the case for me as I now approach the 1800 hrs mark with my one and only Oblivion character you know as Lothran.

So when did you start to play this masterpiece?

I didn't RP at all for a long while. Just ran around in 1st person killing things.

This is pretty much me with the first Renee Gade, although I played in 3rd person instead of 1st. I didn't RP at all until 6 months after buying TES: IV. I grew up RPing with tabletop games, but had no concept of applying RP to videogames. I had my Lara Croft /Tombraider mentality (action/adventure) at the beginning of TES: IV.

There's a page over at UESP that has a list of roleplay ideas, like there's one for a bandit who takes over a camp in the wilderness for instance. I read through all these ideas and it spurred my imagination to make a second Renee Gade, who didn't carry around a half-dozen weapons (Tomb Raider style), 3 or 4 armor suits, and was trying to do all the quests in the game.

Phew...

Really? 3-4 discs on 400-500 hours? I´m on 1800 soon and I´m still on my second disc!

That is odd. I've only used one disc on my PS3 for all these years. ...Maybe Miss Hollow's disc got scratched up or something?
