Buffy's precious black mare is named Superian. She named the mare after her parents. Superior + Terry Ann = Superian.
BTW, the real Superian was the thoroughbred and champion hunter/jumper of my grandfather. Sure enough, Superian's sire was Superior and her dam was Terry Ann. Superian's grandsire was none other than Gallant Fox (1930 Triple Crown Winner). When grandfather first brought Superian home to his stable, she was so young that she came home in the bed of his pickup truck and he lifted her out of it. She was a typical thoroughbred - skittish, prancy and a one-man horse. Grandfather adored and doted on her. She filled his basement with ribbons and, like her famous grandsire, lived nearly three decades. -------------------- |
