I´ve been thinking a bit over why Skingrad is so different compared to the other towns. I mean, it´s not too far out or anything but there are some things that I can´t get a grip on.

First, isn´t Skingrad the only town where all the doors are reinforced? Why is that? It can´t be because of the count because no one outside the Mages Guild knows about his "state".

Second, why is Skingrad the only town to have guards prancing around in heavy armor? Is there a specific lore explanation I´m not aware of?

I do love Skingrad but these things cream my corn. I think I´ve read something about Skingrad being at war with Kvatch in old times, is that why this is?

Please, help me! tongue.gif

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.

I like the beauty of his flag. It shows two sides, and is under the banner of a moon. "True black of night, true red of blood."-Alva.

The fact that his name also speaks of his duality is not to be missed. Janus was a Roman god of two faces, just like how Janus Hassildor has two different faces. The one the public believes, and the one they don't know.

And yet I am, and live—like vapours tossed.
I long for scenes where man hath never trod
A place where woman never smiled or wept
There to abide with my Creator, God,
And sleep as I in childhood sweetly slept,
Untroubling and untroubled where I lie
The grass below—above the vaulted sky.”

Oh wow, never thought of that!
