Kayla's quick action prevented the vampire from alerting the rest of the cave. Aravi was relieved that they still had the element of surprise. They had only entered the cave and already encountered three vampires.
Kayla's sword looked powerful, Aravi would be sure to ask to examine it when they got out of this place. Her own fire enchanted sword glowed dully, like hot steel, when she drew it. This sword radiated light that reminded Aravi of the stars in the sky.
Aravi went over the Kayla, still being careful to make as little noise as she could. She wasn't surprised to see her arrow was broken. She retrieved it nonetheless, sometimes they could be fixed.
She whispered to Kayla, "what's this?" Dusted in the freshly killed vampires, a dirty and torn piece of parchment lay on the ground. Drops of blood sprinkled one corner, and water damage obscured another. Looks like a map. She didn't recognize anything on it however. Maybe Kayla or Vera will.
