To make your kitty litter last longer, put a box of baking soda in the bottom of the pan before you fill it with litter.
Also, don't clean it out by dumping the entire thing. Scoop out the kitty nuggets into a ziplock bag and throw that out. Don't just toss it in your kitchen garbage can and let it sit there though.
