Not only did the Lord's Mail disappear, but Furius Acilius, a veteran of the Imperial Legion, went missing at the same time. It didn't take long for Haryon to put two and two together, especially after he found a worn key right under Furius Acilius' pillow in his private room.
Following a lead, he discovered a hidden door in the Imperial Shrine that led to caves below Ebonheart. Apart from a few diseased rats, that could no longer harm Haryon because of his disease immunity, the only resident down there was Furius Acilius, obviously waiting for the situation to calm down, so he could escape with precious armor.
"Not so fast, Furius! Surrender yourself and come with me. It doesn't have to end in bloodshed," said Haryon, trying to avoid killing if possible. But it was not possible. Furius attacked and the Nerevarine was forced to kill him. He took the Lord's Mail and some stolen gold from his corpse and returned both to the Imperial Commission.
And then...then it was time to go. Lalatia Varian, one of the leading priestesses of the Imperial Cult in Ebonheart, was shocked when Haryon told her that he's leaving. In the past he acted as a
shrine sergeant, an
almoner and even as a
hero that travelled all over Vvardenfell, retrieving precious artifacts that have been lost with time.
His leaving was a great loss for the Cult, but Haryon didn't change his mind. He gave every single acquired artifact
except one to Lalatia with hope that they'll be worn by someone with pure heart. He also gave them one weapon that long accompanied him on his missions through Vvardenfell - a common wooden staff, which Lalatia promised to sanctify, to honor Haryon's name.
The only artifact which he kept for himself, was a small token from Zenithar - a simple enchanted
glove, capable of boosting its wearer's luck. Haryon decided to keep it to remember the Imperial Cult and the Nine Divines. Nodding a farewell to fellow priests, Haryon left Ebonheart, wondering if he'll ever return.
"Never say never. But chances are slim," he thought while leaving the Imperial Capital of Vvardenfell.
