Fallout 3 Megaton House Mod Options

I'd always loved the Gibson house in Minefield, and wished we had an option to live in it; in fact I usually do till I can get my own place. What I liked best was the feel of a regular family house; and basically their structure was intact. (just dungeony).

So what I did was basically just stick (a copy of) the Gibson house inside the Megaton house for the exterior so it still fits in with the feel of Megaton (see the last three screenshots on the final link below for the exterior screenshots). The interior is the same as the Gibson house's too.


(By the way, in making this mod I discovered that Bethesda did not match up the interior and exterior for the Gibson house, in fact there is no exterior in their entire inventory that matches the Gibson house! Unfortunately, by the time I learned that I'd already put too much work in on it to change interiors; so figured if Bethesda could do it, so could I, lol)


At first I just removed all the dirt piles and swapped the interior pieces out for some from Tranquility Lane:

It looked much better, but really didn't like the pink striped wallpaper, or that all the rooms looked exactly the same.

What I ended up doing was the same thing I did when I redecorated my own home IRL - going through pictures in magazines or online till I found something I could love. Googling crown molding brought exactly what I wanted, so with a bunch of pasting over of Bethesda's textures, here is the finished mod:

I love it! Oh, and also added an upper balcony for some private outdoor relaxation - or some outdoor BBQing!!!! Tables, chairs, benches, some food, etc.

You're most welcome, and thank you for providing all the info on FO3 as far as how the mod can fit into the game!

Edit: After discussing this with mALX, we agreed to move her thread here from the Oblivion Mods forum. Were the thread to offer a Fallout 3 mod, I suppose the General RPG forum might be fine. Her intent here, however is to showcase the efforts of a work in progress via screenshots – which fits nicely right here.
