Let's Talk About Characters Options

Ever since I saw the first character gen video I've had my heart set on a pot-bellied Argonian mage with blue feathers called He-Knows. Or maybe Picks-His-Nose. Either way he will have narrow shoulders, ample thighs, and a mead gut. I haven't read enough about classes and whatnot to predict anything else.

What are your ideas? What characters have you already made?

Jerric made a sword and then deconstructed it, and he got no materials back. I don’t know if a higher level skill or perks would change that. Also it was not as good a sword as the level 8 one he made, so maybe certain clothing or foods temporarily increase your crafting abilities. For now I have no idea.

He found a Breton style book in the last dungeon he explored. I think he’s going to read it and see if they have better boots and shirts. Jerric’s style is more Gold Coast than Nordic.

I don’t think lockpicks can be crafted. Jerric bought some from an innkeeper and found some in the ruins. He has to pass by a lot of chests right now because he doesn’t have enough picks.

Gaaaah, so what does deconstructing them do? Urk. I got a Breton motif too, but I don't know where I got it because I can't see the small print in the game when looting; so I didn't see it till I was at the bank depositing stuff. Well, I didn't know if you can "learn" them like you do with recipes, so I didn't try activating it.

But if I knew where I got it, I'd keep going back to that place because from what I've "heard" online - the motifs randomly respawn, so you can get a different one the next time you go there. They call it "farming," or something - to keep going back over and over again to the same place you got good loot at.

I heard that you should go into everyone's houses and check their dressers in the bedrooms for motifs (if it isn't stealing, I guess; because since that advice came out they have added crime/theft to the game)

Yeah, I haven't been able to open a single chest on Bal Foyen.

I have a restoration staff, but haven't used it yet because I don't know what it does - don't want to heal up my enemies, lol. How do they work? Will it heal me when I'm in trouble?

It damages enemies, and apparently can heal nearby allies at the same time. Shoots a pretty stream of gold light.
It might also heal you, but I'm not sure whether it's the staff or Haa Rei's super Argonian regeneration at work.

Oh how cool! I might try it then! Thank you for the help, I have been wondering that for a while, but keep forgetting to ask, lol.
