An Ashlanders Tale Chapter 3 Options

Some of you may have read my first two chapter in this little adventure and enjoyed it. Well i've got alittle twist for yall. Let me introduce to you another charcter that is very important to this story. Her name is Johannes.


Chapter 3

Here we come to a part in this adventure when another character’s plot begins to unfold. This character’s name is Johannes. She is a young female nord who grew up in the new settlement of Dagon Fel. So far her life has been completely unscathed by the war that was going on right outside her small village. However, as we all know nobody can escape war when it is already at your own doorstep. Let us begin Johannes’s story.


“Father.” Johannes asked when she saw her family rushing past them in the streets of Dagon Fel.

“Father!” He turned to look to see who was calling. When he saw Johannes his face lit up and he hurried towards her.

“Hurry daughter. A army is marching this way and I fear they have death and destruction on their minds.”

“What army? Who would want to attack our village?”

All I know is I saw a large group of soldiers coming this way and that I need to get my family out of here before the reach us.” He said in a very urgent tone.

I stared at him in disbelief but his face should too much worry and strain for him to be lying. “Ok. I must get home to gather my stuff.” I started to walk off but he grabbed my arm.

“No there isn’t enough time for that. They will be upon us at any moment we must hurry.”

I nodded and began to follow him through the village. Several people stopped to watch us in our hurry to leave but nobody looked too suspicious of us. I wondered why my father was not telling the others about this approaching army. Thy must know about them. My father would not condemn them all… would he?

This was supposed to go in the last post but I missed it when I was pasting it here.


For what seemed like days Johannes popped up and down behind the tower walls trying to shoot nord soldiers. She would load an arrow, jump up aim into the masses of nords, fire and sit back down to reload not even trying to see if her arrow hit anybody. She reached back behind her to grab an arrow and felt only two shafts in her pouch. Johannes froze trying to think of what she would do when she ran out of arrows. There was no possibility of anybody having any more arrows she could use. She grabbed one of her two arrows and stood up and this time she aimed and made sure she had a clear target before firing. The arrow struck the nord just below the right shoulder and sent him spinning to the ground. “One left.” Johannes said when she had sat back down below the wall again. “Lets make this one count.”

Before she could stand up again a load horn blow sounded through the small valley she was in. It echoed across the land and sent a shock wave of silence through the valley for a whole 10 seconds. The nords stood about wondering what the horn blow could have meant and that cost them dearly. For at that moment a black cloud appeared over the ridge and sailed down upon the valley. Commander screamed for their men to take cover but it was too late. The hail of arrows that made up the cloud landed amidst the scrambling nords and the few hundred unlucky nords who couldn’t find cover fast enough soon found themselves with a few arrows stuck in them. The street was littered with the dead and wounded and it seemed that we had killed most of them. But then some of the nords started to rise from the ground and grab up their weapons. I stood shocked at the determination of these men. The sound of hundreds of angered voices filled the valley and countless numbers of more nords started to run up the road towards the ruined village. I started to step backwards away from the wall and was about to start running when a woman came up behind me.

“Come on! We have to get out of here!” With that she ran down the steps and out the door. I looked over the wall again and saw that the entire force I was in was running. I didn’t want them to wait for me so I ran off after the woman. I ran out the door and almost tripped over a dead chimer archer. I paused for a moment and grabbed her remaining 6 arrows. Not much but it would do if I had to survive on my own out in the wilderness. I looked behind me and saw that the nords were drawing closer. From where I stood I could clearly see the bloodlust in their eyes. If I stayed there any longer I was going to be hacked to pieces. So I took off down the road as fast I could not stopping to look back.
