Fleeing from Summerset

I can’t believe this is how my life has ended up. On the run from my own home, city, and country. And all because I chose to stand up for my ideals, and dared to disagree with the Thalmor and their ruthless methods. No more. I won’t be a part of their wrongdoings and misgivings. But, where to go? The Empire is not what it once was, and the Thalmor have their grimy fingers in just about everyone else’s sweet roll, too....

Whatever. I suppose I’ll head to Hammerfell and go from there. Nothing remains for me here in Firsthold. Those evil bastards saw to that, when they killed the only family I had left. Rest peacefully, brother, and know the cowards who ambushed you have seen their actions returned in kind. And I won’t stop there, either. Someone has to take the fight to these radicals, and when that time comes, I will be there to lend my talents in earnest.

Arrival in Rihad

So, this is Hammerfell, eh? It's not that impressive. At least....Rihad isn't. They really must be valiant warriors, to have held the Dominion to a stalemate on their own accord. Whatever. Too bad they hadn't followed them back to the Isle's and trounced them once and for all.

A local told me about the unrest in Skyrim. A civil war being waged by the Nords against the Empire...because they oppose the sanctions lain down in the treaty. I wish the civilians of Summerset had enough backbone to stand up and fight like the Nords have. I've decided to head there and see whats what, but have been advised against going through the Alik'r.

I have my reservations about traipsing through Cyrodiil on my own, but it probably is my best option. I set out for Anvil tomorrow. Hopefully, the Thalmor aren't crawling all over Colovia.

The Cold City of Bruma

I paid a cart driver for a ride up to the northern border. It was too far a distance to walk by myself, and who knows what sort of scum I would have encountered on the roads of Cyrodiil. This city is cold, but I'm told Skyrim will be infinitely colder. I find that hard to believe though, especially with the southern region's being so close to Hammerfell and Cyrodiil. Haven't these ever louts looked at a map before? It's probably just another case of the Nords trying to keep a dirty elf out of their land.

Fetchers, the lot of them. I hope they aren't all like this. I guess I'll know soon enough....tomorrow I ride for the Pale Pass.
