I used to care for a horse that was blind in one eye - had to wear blinkers with a full eye patch over that eye or he would see shadows from the light going through the trees and it would make him shy and jump around. (like the one below). If he heard the horses coming up on that blind side of him, it would make him run faster because he couldn't see what was coming.
