I am most certainly intrigued by it and part of me is definitely excited, but a little concerned that it won't translate well into a TV series. I'm always somewhat skeptical of video games turned into movies or shows. But apparently it is being made by the producers of Westworld (which I haven't seen but I always hear about how great it is), which makes me feel more optimistic. I think the setting lends itself to being a TV show much more than The Elder Scrolls, anyhow.
They need to stay completely away from the stories of the games. Unless maybe there are some indirect references to the Master, the Institute, Project Purity, Reclamation Day, etc., I think it'd be a bad idea to have the actual games' stories be a part of it. One exception would be the NCR, depending on when and where and how they do it. There's so much else that can be explored, though. So many states that haven't even been touched, and we've gone as far as, what, 210 years past the bombs falling? We could even explore outside the U.S. as well.
You covered some of my thoughts here. So many things they’d need to get right. I’ve seen the first and second seasons of
Westworld and it honestly feels like a “living” video game. I think if anyone can pull it off, these producers have the best chance of doing so.
