We came to Balmora in the middle of the night hour, the streets were quite empty. We walked down the silt strider port, Sarvel leading the way. As I followed him straight forward, I could soon see this huge building between the houses. Out from the stairs it hanged a crest; it was two swords, laid across with a shield atop of that again. It clearly looked like what we were seeking, the Fighter’s Guild. As we stepped into the enlighted house we were greeted by a female Nord, Eydis Fire-Eye. She was the Guildmaster of Balmora Fighter’s Guild, Sarvel held me out of the conversation with Eydis. I was very sure he was talking about what had just happened in Suran. As I stood waiting I rubbed my face several times, I had even a hard time standing as I was getting more and more tired and exhausted.
As I was about to fall to the floor Sarvel came down to me.
“
Wayne isn’t here in Balmora now. He’s out on a quest and won’t return until the end of the week” Sarvel admitted, thought I think he wished Wayne was here so he could return to Suran. “Fasile Charaseel is going to be ‘in charge’ of you these few days. She will introduce you to the rules of the Fighter’s Guild and also start up the training” Sarvel added, he took my hand before handing over some septims. It wasn’t a small amount; at least it had to be over 80. He instructed me to get some equipment tomorrow, a sword and some armor, and possible food too and save the rest for my own use. It was like Sarvel had turned to be a friend, thought he was still only a guard doing his duty. He gave me a grin, which was followed by clapping me on the cheek before going out of the Fighter’s Guild returning to Suran.
I didn’t exactly smile as he left, but Eydis came into the picture fast and showed me to the place where I could get some sleep. It was a large room, downstairs not so far from the training quarters. Filled with several beds and equipment chests, it was like the Fighter’s Guild barracks. The night pasted, as the sun started rising I was already awake. I had a hard time sleeping, thought the beds where better than what I was used to. The nightmares and intimidating thoughts of the future wouldn’t leave my mind. I was still new here, to Morrowind, to Vvardenfell. As I tried to get a few minutes of sleep before the sun rised above the hills surrounding Balmora the door opened. I could see a female Nord, not looking so much different as Eydis. With her armor on and no expression on her face she walked to the side of my bed looking down at me as I rubbed my eyes.
“
Time for training, get your cloth on and follow me…” She said as she unsheathed her sword and held it by her side. “
Ah… I guess we haven’t met either, I’m Fasile” she added with a smile before she walked back to the open door waiting for me. I didn’t even have the chance to introduce myself, but I guess she already knew me. I got dressed in a hurry and rushed after her as he entered the training quarters. It was just a huge room with all the equipment you could need to train, we sat down for a moment as she told me the rules, and how it was going to be until Wayne returned to take over the training. She also took up and told me about what she thought I needed to train on, I wasn’t especially strong or swift. She could point that out pretty easily and thought it was almost like an insult I really didn’t care because I knew it myself. I started of with just training my strength and endurance the morning, it was hard work and my muscles had several cramps as we had a little break as the sun stood on its highest.
After a short break, she gave me an iron sword. I learned to parry, block and attacked for the rest of the day until it was the middle of the night. It was only basic and easy training; it was all so she could see how I could handle the sword. I was totally exhausted as I walked back to my bed; I almost fell to my knees as I had been training the whole day. I was so tired that I slept quite good that night, thought it didn’t go many hours before Fasile came back in again and it was already morning and the training started over again.
Still more to come, I'm writing right now...
