I was going to update my other story, but I was like, to heck with that. I found the urge to continue the story of my RP character was much too strong to resist. So here is the first chapter.

"No, I can't keep 'im, can't afford to pay for the amount of care he'd need." The man said, standing up and brushing a few crumbs off his shirt that had managed to survive the full utilization of his mouth. He placed his old leather hat back onto his head, forcing it to mix once again with his grimy, unkempt hair.

The lady, who was sitting almost directly across from him, was basically begging.

"Please, not another of my children!" She cried out desperately, tears running down her face. She had been hoping he might change his decision, make the first exception.

His features did not change nor soften at all, he stayed firm in his decision, and he was getting a little annoyed at her.

"I told ya, if you don't listen, you'll go as well." He said angrily, grabbing the child they were discussing and heading outside, at a fast stride.

15 Years - Chapter 1

Niran woke up, rubbing his eyes, and looking tiredly around. He rose from bed, bathed, then donned a clean pair of clothes. They weren't goning to stay clean for very long, he was going to see what he could find in the forest today.

He strode down the stairs and nearly stumbled when he came to the bottom, his mind tended to wander off from his boring life.

Sitting at the breakfast table, he noticed his sister and mother where already there. Where was his father? He normally did not leave till night, to avoid pirates and such traveling the ocean.

He decided to ask the question,

"Mother, where has father gone to this morning?" Niran used his normal, carefree tone. Making sure he didn't sound the least bit worried.

His mother turned to him,

"Well Niran, you know he's been very busy lately. Latest shipments are to Summerset Isle, far off place that is." She said knowingly, while signing some piece of paper hecouldn't manage to read.

Niran's mother spent most of her time studying and trying to learn enough to keep up with him, though it wasn't an easy task. She often spent nearly a whole week in her study, only coming down for meals, and the occasional walk.

"No school today, I suppose." She said, sipping a strong smelling drink. She put the cup down on the table and looked at him.

"No mother, today we have off." He said, his voice sounding a bit disapointed, though he did have much to do still. He shifted in his seat, and begin to eat.

After the meal had ended he excused himself from the table and told his mother that he'd be leaving later today, because staying in the house was much too boring.

"I suppose so," she said, warily granting him permission, "Be sure to stay in town, no wandering off." She knew that telling him would do no good, he was bound to run off somewhere.

His younger sister, Sidria, who had been silent all this time spoke up, giving her own theory as to where Niran was running off to.

"Going and seeing girls are we?" she said smirking, brushing her beautiful and lengthy hair back.

Niran blushed looking down before looking to his mother for help.

"Of course not, don't be silly." Was the only thing he said in response, it's what he normally said when she started picking on him.

"It's none of your business if he is," his mother added, though she couldn't supress a little smile as she headed up the stairs to the top floor. She really did wonder about that boy sometimes.

Niran rolled his eyes and headed outside, not watching what his sister chose to do next. What did this new day have in store for him . . .

This update came after a longer break than usual. I might however, find time to write a chapter every weekend as I have now.

---------------------

Niran's father had returned home not long afterwards, with a handsome pile of septims to throw around in whichever way he pleased. Upon noticing that his son's sword was missing, he quickly replaced it with a new one. Not even, it seemed, the slightest bit annoyed with the boy. Niran was joyed when his father returned home, because he brought home news of a new deal he struck with important traders in Morrowind.

The very first night of his fathers return wasn't the least bit relaxed, with a party thrown for him. His father had been absent a year, the longest period Niran had ever spent without him. It was that night that the his father questioned him on the various occurences during his absence.

"What did you think of the Dunmer?" he said, referring to Faili and her father's visit some time ago.

Niran pondered over what to say for a moment, before coming up with a suitable answer. "The visit was certainly a surprise father, I wonder why you did not tell me they were too visit."

His father frowned slightly. "Had I known they were too visit before I had left for Morrowind, then I would have informed you. However," He paused and accepted water from a servant who had brought it from the well. Niran's father, Amroth, did not drink. Niran like his father, ended up with a great dislike for alcohol.

"However." Amroth started again. "I had little idea that any visit was too occur until I met Rumil and his fine daughter Faili on the way to Balmora."

Niran nodded, as his father drank from the goblet of water. When he placed the goblet down, he used his sleeve to wipe his face before he continued. "What did you think of Faili? Her father told he had plans for the two of you too meet."

His father noticed Niran was hesitant upon deciding what to say. So he spoke for him. "Speechless eh? Yes, she isn't used to the kind of adventurous life you enjoy. She basically always had someone to carry her around."

Niran was about to interject and say that it had been no different, but decided better. His father was in a rather cheerful mood.

16 Years - Chapter 1

Breakfast went smoothly, without any complaining on the part of his sister. She was tired of the same old food over and over again, with the local restrictions on the food supply. He stuck his fork through some strange looking loaf of "bread", without a clue as to what it really was.

When finished, he stood up and pushed his plate forward. Exiting the room smoothly without even being excused, and it wasn't until several minutes had gone by that Amroth looked up and noticed his son missing from the table. He shrugged and started eating again.

Outside, Niran paced to the back of the house. Right in front of a little target he had set up. Drawing his Ebony longsword, he swung it clumsily at the target, which was positioned on a crudely made dummy. His silver sword had been heavy, but it was nothing compared to the weight of this Ebony one. He nearly fell forward, and had to lean against the dummy to stop himself from collapsing into the dirt.

Several moments later, he was standing straight again and swinging his sword as best he could at the now "dummy". For it no longer had any resemblance to that of a human whatsoever.

A minute of this had gone by when his mother called him from the door.

"Hurry up Niran, or you'll be late too school." She shouted sternly, walking back into the house and closing the door.

His school equipment was already at the small academy downtown. So, without another moments hesitation, he sheathed his sword and ran off down the road.

The academy was a medium sized building of two levels, one for boys and the other for girls. Speaking of girls, Niran hoped he wouldn't run into Selvia(he was starting to realise that teasing her in first standard hadn't been a very good idea, it seemed that she was stuck on the prospect of getting revenge for all the times he mocked the way she would dress.) He turned the corner of a street nearing the school and as usual, ran into bad luck.

"Why hello, Niran."

"Uh hi Selvia, would you mind moving out of my way. I'm rather in a hurry now, I'll be late for school."

Instead of moving, she stepped forward and attempted to grab his sword from it's sheath, failing miserably.

"Nice try, but it's ebony." He told her, pushing her to the side in order for him to pass. "See you later." Then he added under his breath, "Hopefully not."

Upon reaching the school, he reached out a hand to pull open the double doors, and entered. The halls were deserted, for boys were on the first level and classes for them had already begun, it was not till an hour later that the girls would start school.

Darting down the hall, he turned swiftly and entered his homeroom, where his teacher was in the middle of explaining a god called Mara. Niran, after receiving a stern glance from the instructor, took a seat farthest back. The teacher muttered on about Mara, but Niran didn't listen at all. He was exceptionally bright, just not in this particular field. For he didn't find much interest in worship.

At the end of class the teacher summoned Niran to the front of the room as the rest of the students piled onto the next class, Niran very reluctantly came forward.

"Late again, what is your excuse this time." He said, rubbing his hands together and smirking.

"Mr. Cular, you know the punishment for being late to the very first class of the day. This class is mine and I will punish you as I see fit."

Niran glared at the instructor, who continued to smirk back.

"Remove that look from your face immediately Niran, or I shall have to remove myself. Rather, I could use a spell to freeze it in place. That would be nice, wouldn't it. You wouldn't even be able to move your mouth, and ramble on about nonsense, and how the gods are unimportant as you usually do. You're idiot of a father didn't teach his son respect for the divines as he should have."

This was too much for Niran, and he swung his fist at the instructors face. Never would he allow anyone to insult his father, after he had donated so much to this school.
