Thanks everyone.

Kiln crawled further up onto the bank, turning over onto his back. Blood flowed freely from his wounds as he lied there on the wet shoreline, spitting out mud and water that had gotten in his mouth.
As he lay there, he wondered how such horrible things could happen on such a beautiful night. He turned over on his back and looked at the stars and the moons but averted his gaze to the sea. The moonlight shone brightly on the water, as Kiln stared at the water, a crab crawled up beside him.
He stared at the creature as it looked at him. Kiln looked for his blade but realised that it was too far away for him to reach so he just continued looking at the crab. It came closer and let out a humming sound.
"Not now." He said pushing it away
As Kiln forced himself to stand, the pain fully hit him. His body ached and the cuts the hound had left upon him burned as the water dripped from his hair. His hair was no longer spiked but hung down in front of his eyes.
He wiped it away and staggered to his sword, picking it up from the ground and wiping the mud from it before sheathing it.
Slowly, he limped back to the small village, hoping nothing further would be attracted by his blood. After what seemed like forever, he finally found the village and entered the tradehouse where his friends had been waiting.
"Kiln! What happened to you?" Jinx yelled
This woke York and he sat up, he looked at Kiln, void of emotion as he usually was.
"What happened to ya boy?" York asked staring at Kiln
Kiln stood there for a few seconds before replying.
"Damn nix hounds..." Kiln said
The tradehouse owner sat up and looked at Kiln.
"What the hell are you doing boy? You're bleedin all over me rug!" the owner said as he stood and walked over to them, motioned at Kiln to get off the rug
Confused, Kiln stepped off the rug and watched as the angry man went outside to wash it.
Kiln lied down in the floor and Jinx knelt down, putting his hands over the wound and chanting softly. A few moments passed as Jinx tried to heal him.
"I can't do it. I'm just not good enough." Jinx said annoyed with himself as he sat back against the wall
"Don't worry about it Jinx. I'll be fine." Kiln said
"Jinx, you'd better go find anyone in this village that can do healing spells or has a few potions to help him along." York said
Jinx stood and left the building quickly, off to search for a healer.
Kiln pushed his pack away, not wanting to get blood on the journal. He desperately wanted to read from it but his condition would not allow him, so he sat there waiting for Jinx to return.

He who fights with monsters should be careful lest he thereby become a monster. And if thou gaze long into an abyss, the abyss will also gaze into thee. - Friedrich Nietzsche
