I was going to update my other story, but I was like, to heck with that. I found the urge to continue the story of my RP character was much too strong to resist. So here is the first chapter.

"No, I can't keep 'im, can't afford to pay for the amount of care he'd need." The man said, standing up and brushing a few crumbs off his shirt that had managed to survive the full utilization of his mouth. He placed his old leather hat back onto his head, forcing it to mix once again with his grimy, unkempt hair.

The lady, who was sitting almost directly across from him, was basically begging.

"Please, not another of my children!" She cried out desperately, tears running down her face. She had been hoping he might change his decision, make the first exception.

His features did not change nor soften at all, he stayed firm in his decision, and he was getting a little annoyed at her.

"I told ya, if you don't listen, you'll go as well." He said angrily, grabbing the child they were discussing and heading outside, at a fast stride.

15 Years - Chapter 1

Niran woke up, rubbing his eyes, and looking tiredly around. He rose from bed, bathed, then donned a clean pair of clothes. They weren't goning to stay clean for very long, he was going to see what he could find in the forest today.

He strode down the stairs and nearly stumbled when he came to the bottom, his mind tended to wander off from his boring life.

Sitting at the breakfast table, he noticed his sister and mother where already there. Where was his father? He normally did not leave till night, to avoid pirates and such traveling the ocean.

He decided to ask the question,

"Mother, where has father gone to this morning?" Niran used his normal, carefree tone. Making sure he didn't sound the least bit worried.

His mother turned to him,

"Well Niran, you know he's been very busy lately. Latest shipments are to Summerset Isle, far off place that is." She said knowingly, while signing some piece of paper hecouldn't manage to read.

Niran's mother spent most of her time studying and trying to learn enough to keep up with him, though it wasn't an easy task. She often spent nearly a whole week in her study, only coming down for meals, and the occasional walk.

"No school today, I suppose." She said, sipping a strong smelling drink. She put the cup down on the table and looked at him.

"No mother, today we have off." He said, his voice sounding a bit disapointed, though he did have much to do still. He shifted in his seat, and begin to eat.

After the meal had ended he excused himself from the table and told his mother that he'd be leaving later today, because staying in the house was much too boring.

"I suppose so," she said, warily granting him permission, "Be sure to stay in town, no wandering off." She knew that telling him would do no good, he was bound to run off somewhere.

His younger sister, Sidria, who had been silent all this time spoke up, giving her own theory as to where Niran was running off to.

"Going and seeing girls are we?" she said smirking, brushing her beautiful and lengthy hair back.

Niran blushed looking down before looking to his mother for help.

"Of course not, don't be silly." Was the only thing he said in response, it's what he normally said when she started picking on him.

"It's none of your business if he is," his mother added, though she couldn't supress a little smile as she headed up the stairs to the top floor. She really did wonder about that boy sometimes.

Niran rolled his eyes and headed outside, not watching what his sister chose to do next. What did this new day have in store for him . . .

16 Years - Chapter 2

Niran couldn't move, a resolute force seemed to hold him in place. His eyes were wide with surprise as he stared up at his instructor, who was rubbing his hands together and grinning.

"A lesson to learn, don't bother with those more knowledgeable than you. I think a few hours like that should suffice as punishment." The man said, turning away and picking up a few scrolls.

"I'm sure you can find your own way out when the spell wears off."

With that, the instructor turned and strode haughtily out of the school room.

It was late in the evening when he returned home, his muscles cramped from hours of lying in the same position. Turning the knob of the door to his house, he dragged himself in. His parents were sitting by the fireplace, and talking. His father stood up when he noticed Niran.

However, Amroth didn't insist on an explanation from his son. He let Niran pass up the stairway without a word of questioning, however others were not to be so kind.

"Who were you seeing?"

"Don't bother me, or I'll complain to father. He told you to leave me be."

Niran's sister arrogantly raised her head and marched down the stairway past him. Niran made a rude gesture behind her as she passed. His sister was always bothering him about his social life, though it never was any business of hers. He had made this clear several times, his reluctance to tell her about his outings. She was persistent and refused to let up. Though it might have been for her own good, for Niran was easy to annoy and anger. He was even starting to think that she might enjoy getting him riled up, for it was hard for him to respond without getting himself in a great deal of trouble.

Slumping down onto his bed with a great sigh, he turned over stared blankly up at the ceiling. Thinking about nearly everything there was for him to think about. This state of thoughtfulness didn't last very long, for he soon had a terrible headache. With a great effort, he managed to clear his mind, shove everything away to be dealt with later. It was rather easy for him to escape anxiety, but his troubles always came back. Much harder than they had before. This he could not deal with, and he nearly went crazy whenever something drastic happened that would change his way of life.

School was one of them, an aspect of life he never really enjoyed. He was bored of school, and he despised his teacher, who was so conceited it's amazing he got the job he did in the first place.

Another was girls.

He found himself drifting a lot more often towards them, attempting half conciously to strike up a conversation. When he realized what he was doing he would always be terribly embarrased, and back down for fear of muttering something idiotic. His sister made matters worse, she was always poking fun at his way of speaking to them. She would mock him right there in front of Selvia, and Selvia would play along with his sister.

Between women and school he seemed to have enough to deal with, but then another matter came up. The most complicated of all.

His inheritance.

Amroth, his father, owned a large shipping company that traded as far as Summerset Isle. Amroth was so wealthy now, it mattered little whether or not he would continue to trade, but being a man who took great pride in his posessions, he wanted Niran to have the shipping company once he retired. Niran would have to have extra schooling in order to learn how to cope with such a draining task, and his father wasn't sure if the boy could be trusted with the company at all, for he seemed too wrapped up in other matters.
