I really like what I saw of the lock-picking minigame. Seems like as long as you're willing to use precision and patience you'll be able to get through it, it reflects the combat system on a deeper level.
If you just want to play and aren't a really skilled player, you can put in the time to level your character and make them good enough on their own, however at the same time your ability with them will reflect their personalities and what they're good at.
If you're a patient, precise person, you'll be a very good stealth player, and likewise your character will be very good at stealth. If your powerful and ferocious, that will carry on as well. It's like this great net they set up to appeal to both the players who like using a skill and the players who want to rely on their characters to be good and not have to deal with those problems themselves.
