Well, I lived in a spanish-speaking country for 10 years but still I don't trust my spanish 100%

there are so many "flavours" to it..
However It's true that "Me gusta" isn't "I love" but "I like". but if you would directly translate "I love wolves" it would be as Megil said "Amo los lobos" but I think personally that "Amo" is a bit too much. Only on the most romantic moments when it finally happened that I would use the word "Amo", or maybe when I exagerate over liking something. So I guess you can choose:
"Me gusta mucho los lobos" --> I like wolves very much
"Amo los lobos" --> I love wolves
or
"Me encanta los lobos" that would be "I really like wolves" or something like that..
Man, spanish is hard
