Well, something in the Parliament that Doomed said made me want to start this thread.. so here is goes.

What are your goals for the future? Not really what will your career be, but what you want to do in your life.

I for one, after I make it into the USAFA (hopefully), I plan to help my parents run their business, sorta like a partnership. I also am planning (and already doing) to invest my money into different things, such as, but not limited, the Stock Market.

When I make Lt. Col. (again hopefull) I'll probably want to retire out of the Air Force and thats when I plan to go back to good ol' Nashville, NC and try to assert myself into the local government. However, I will be making trips to Africa now and then because in my mind there is one step needed to build great things. And that is simply, education. I'd like to help as much as a westerner could in Africa and help those that are willing to help them build their nation freely.

If I'm not old and dead by then, I want to start delving my hand deeper into politics and eventually becoming a senator, and possibly govener of NC. (Who knows whats beyond that biggrin.gif)

Several Major Things I'd Like to Accomplish:
Study in Saudia Arabia
Traverse the Carpathians
Pick up at least two majors (History & MSS)
Go hunting in Siberia
Walk the entirity of NC (from east to west)
Work hard to improve my Canadian-Nick relations
Become fluent in Arabic, German, and possibly Spanish
Sail from Cali to Japan
(Not so far future) Go to a Flogging Molly Concert
Befriend a Russian
Visit the Dead Sea and eat fish cool.gif
Go deep sea fishing with Butt (That one of my buddies (thats his nickname) He always talks about going fishing, but I've never been with him)
Study a bit in Spain
Help those in need
Help my father start a computer store
Stop drinking soda for a year
Go visit a few of my friends in Cali
Find a beach and live like a bum for a while
Help design a video game
Have at least one child
Go to church in Italy
Go to a soccer game (anywhere but here in the US)
Go drink a pint in Ireland smile.gif
Visit my friend OptimusPrime in New Zealand
Make at least five more friends before I graduate
Build a house
Go sky diving in France
Sleep for 24 hours straight (Not sure if its possible)
Drive from NC to Cali
Visit my brother when he's over seas
See my dog live past when I graduate college
Help establish a town
Find one of my highschool friends after I've lost touch with them
Smile more
Be prosperous
Take care of my parents when they get old
Tell my younger brother that no matter how much I detest him sometimes, I still love him
Mess with one of the guards in England
Honor those that have given their life for any great cause
Visit Jerusalem
Help someone write a book
Write a book about my life
Have a very pretty woman feed me grapes as a lay on a couch
Stay fit and well during my life
Live to 111 so that I can see the turn of the century (again)
Take my grandchildren across the world
Eat in Vienna
Pretend to be a cowboy one day
Learn how to dance
Live with an Arabic Family for six months
Watch the ocean from the shores of Greece
Eat New York Style pizza, in New York
Go tour Europe with my best friend
Find very pretty European girls
Visit Japan and their schools
Go play paintball with my Dad
Buy a nice car
Play four years of varsity soccer
Go to the hotsprings in Budapest (?)
Help pioneer the effort into space

And thats just a sample from my list.. I plan on expanding it and trying to accomplish ALL the goals. Both long term and short.

I think it is. I believe the world record is 37. I can't verify that, but while I think I remember it from somewhere. I also found, while trying to verify it, a mention of someone who slept for 39 hours, but I'm not sure I should trust it. Well, here's hte site, if you want to check it out.

This is a man with his priorities in the right place. smile.gif

Eh, here's my own set of goals. Anything in green is an old life goal which I've accomplished. Anything in red is something that I doubt will ever happen, buty it's on the list anyways. Anything in orange has a special factor being added in, some little plan or something. Anything else is just a life goal of mine, nothing extra special about it. (I'll add an explanation for anything I feel like explaining.) These are in no special order.

Get a job

Get a girlfriend

Graduate from high school

Get accepted into a college

Move out of my parent's house-While talking to a friend, who also has problems with her family, about our college and stuff, I mentioned how hard it would be to pay for an apartment and college at the same time, and she said that the two of us could be room mates, which would but the costs a bit. (naturally, being the sarcastic little compassion that I am, I purposely misunderstood her, and mentioned that her boyfriend and my girlfriend wouldn't like that plan much)

Graduate from college

Move out of state-There are very few jobs around here, and even the ones there are don't pay well. For example, any IT job (which is the industry I want to go into) you can find in this area, you can find a similar job in another state that pays twice as much.

Get a new job, preferably in the IT industry

Grow older over time-Beats the alternative. However, given my sarcastic tendencies, I may die one day because I make a sarcastic remark about the guy mugging me overcompensating for something with the overlarge pistol he's waving in front of my nose.

Lose all appreciation for popular music- Already partially completed. I despise most rap/pop, and there are only a few well-known bands that I still like, often only one song from that band, sometimes less. And the rest are only "just barely" like.

Get married?- Not sure about this one. Much as I like (love? too early to know) my girlfriend, I have problems seeing either of us being willing to get old together. (or at all, but we don't have much choice there) And I notice that every single person I know who has been married ended up regretting it and getting a divorce. (and I mean EVERYONE that I know personally, including every member of my family) Any who didn't get divorced either had plans to at some point or another, or is unhappy with their marriage in some other way.

Learn more about various religions, preferably from a member of that religion, rather than the differently biased stuff we learn in school-Would be nice to know more about some religions that I'm interested in. Particularly, I'd like to learn a bit more about Wiccan, Satanism, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhism, and Shinto, for starters.

That's all I can think of for now. There are certainly other things that I'd like to do, I suppose, but this is all I can think of for now that is likely to happen at some point in time.

EDIT: changed a few phrases, added some humor
