So, for ten dollars you can get a list of 26 songs used in Oblivion, all composed by the ltanted Jeremy Soule. I thought it was a waste of money but my eagerness cuaght up with eventually and I downloaded the album.

The music is excellent. A lot of the songs are very similar to morrowind;s, in fact it seems music will feel very similar to how it did in Morrowind, if only less repetitive and a bit more suited to where you currently are in the game or what's happening.

Still, after reading a couple interviews I decided a really necessary mod will be something really easy to do, when initiating combat music from exploration or plot music, instead of being abrupt as it was in Morrowind and I hear it is in Oblivion, the current music should fade away into a pause that will last for five seconds, then the battle music would start. The abrupt music changed spoil the immersion.

You can get it from DirectSong, although it will be copywrited with M$ DRM-system, wich sucks since you only can use Windows Media Player to play it kvright.gif. I've also considered buying the album though but I would burn it to a music-cd as soon as downloaded in that case, since I refuse to use M$ crap like WMP tongue.gif.

Regarding the music itself I find it even better than Morrowind actually, the exploration-themes have more depth to them than the morrowind ones and they feel more ambient. However you can only tell if the music is good in it's real context, I wouldn't know if this music actually fits in the environment were it plays before I experience it.

The transitions I find kind of OK, it's a fast transition but in some cases the distance between peace and battle are small and to fit the music in the transition would have to be short. However I totally agree that battle-music in general kind of spoils some battles, especially low-lvl ones, but that would probably be easy to fix with some mod. (Think I might post this in the Mod Ideas section) After I've played a game for a while I tend to turn off music at all since I find the amient-sounds more than enough (especially in games like MW with the sound enhancement mods and probably also in Oblivion) and I also find myself more emerged in the atmosphere without the music, after all I don't have a soundtrack running behind me in my life wink.gif.
