It seems there might be proof for the ability to drag bodies (most likely for stealth purposes) while there is no assurance that this isn't a cut scene it may still be done

Well, I doubt you'll get to drag him in the first place. After he dies, things probably switch to high speed. Guards could be aproaching and there you are, standing next to the death emperor. They would probably think that you are the bad guy. So I wouldn't be surprised if your character automatically flees and the emperor's corpse gets removed while you aren't looking.
Besides, even if you stood there and they didn't saw you as the bad guy when they found you, wouldn't they say something along the lines of:,, Look, this quest is all nice and stuff but why don't you just go back to your safe cell. There are professional guards who can take care of finding this heir much better than you. Just look at yourself, you're a wimp. You wouldn't stand a chance." That would completely destroy the main quest. But we can always dream. And there is the construction set. I allready know that I would make a clone of the emperor to talk to.
