Hello all,
First off...i'm not an oblivion player *gasp* (ducks the flying fruit).
however my GF is an avid fan, and I do like to watch as she plays. I see it like a good soap i guess smile.gif.

Anyways, I'm fairly well up on my 3d modelling and have made numerous swords, axes, daggers and other pointy weapons just for fun in 3ds. It'd be cool if i could add them to oblivion but i'm having trouble figuring out how. I have 3ds 5,6 and 7 so take your pick...

Of course all weapons i make i'll put here....or however that works.
I have a nice dragon decorated katana (based on one I own) that i'd like to try first.

I'd really appreciate any help, or links to places that will help, and I would love to add more and more stuff to oblivion. although i don't play it, i'd really like to get into modding it a lot. don't ask why....

Thank you muchly

Hmm that's some tasty fish....but they aren't compatable with 3ds

anyway.

i think you misunderstand. I have the CS. and enough knowledge of it to make a start. however when it comes to adding the new weapon's nif file(TES's 3d format) that's where the problems occur. There's little to no documentation as to the format of these files. And the only NIF exporter plugin for max is on TES morrowind's website and when i tried to import a file it produced, the oblivion CS claimed the format was too old. Where's the plugin for the new format? Anyone? I can't find it anywhere...
also, how do I export existing meshes from oblivion? THey're all packed in this one big compressed file with seemingly no way of getting them out...
