Here's the link to Chapter I of Arthago's tale.
http://www.waiting4oblivion.com/forums/ind...?showtopic=1782

We can get this new chapter over with. I can also tell you that after this chapter, Arthago will move to a new province. I'm not telling though, you have to be on your guard. Well, blabbering over, here's the begining of the newest chapter of Arthago's tale. Enjoy!

~~~
I found myself in an icy Arena, fighting someone I didn't know. He was a tall Imperial, wearing ebony plates under his blue cloak. He wielded a great mace which gave him supernatural power. He lunged at me with a ferocity I had never seen before, forcing me to put all my strength into evading his blows. He had a red in his eyes which froze the blood in my veins. What did he want? Why was I fighting him? I woke up in my inn bed after managing to hit this powerful foe. I was sweating heavily, and my head was banging. It had been a nightmare, a very realistic one. I hoped that this I wouldn't experience this kind of nightmare ever again.
Nightmares and monstrous foes aside, I had a meeting with the king of Sentinel and I didn't want to be late. I took a look at my armour. It had some patches of dirt on it, the weather in Sentinel was very windy at the time so sand storms often engulfed the city. I gave the armour a quick scrub with a cloth then put it on. I wanted to look my best if I was going to meet the King and talk affairs of state with him. I made my way downstairs and after greeting the regulars I was on my way to the palace. I decided to collect Marshall Daron from his house first. When I reached his house, I found him shaved and wearing some expensive clothes. So the Marshall had an official side to him eh?
"Are you ready sir?" I asked.
"Ready as can be, let us be off!" Marshall Daron said. And with that we were on our way to the palace.
We reached the palace soon enough, and entered the throne room. The king wasn't wearing his crown or any fancy clothes. This must have seemed like an unofficial meeting to him. Whatever. I greeted him.
"Greetings sire! We have come to discuss the subject of Lord Kain's murder." I said in an official tone.
"Yes. Lord Kain was, a good man. But sadly, the ambitions of another got into the way and he was murdered in cold blood." the King said in a sad voice.
"Aye. Lord Vhosek." Marshall Daron said.
"Yes. Lord Vhosek's personal ambitions were to rule his own province. He has it now, in the form of Lainlyn. The terms I agreed with him were that, if Lord Kain refused to rule in our name Lord Vhosek could slay him and rule the province himself. It seems Lord Vhosek didn't even propose any terms, he just plain murdered Lord Kain. If I were to send soldiers to arrest him, he could go to the kingdom of Wayrest and start a war with us. I can't have that, the men have just returned to their homes after a war. We must wait and somehow bring Lord Vhosek to justice." The king said.
"I know how." I said.
"And how may that be Arthago?" Marshall Daron asked me.
"I will go to Lord Vhosek's palace in Lainlyn and slay him myself. I can't let Lord Kain's murder go unpunished." I said in a bold tone.
"Bold words for someone so young. How will you get past Vhosek's guards? He has his own knight order to protect him." The king said. He was right, I was geting too bold for my own age and experience.
"Yes, you are right my king. But what shall we do? Lord Vhosek might as well build his power in Lainlyn and start a war with us. We must neutralize him. If he lied to your Majesty and murdered Lord Kain just to gain power then he doesn't feel any fear towards your Highness." I said.
"Aye, true words. I must say that you have a great ammount of political savy my boy." the king said. Wow, beeing aknowledged by the king felt great.
"I have heard that some rebellious groups have been popping up in the north of the kingdom. Maybe Lord Vhosek has already started his movements?" Marshall Daron said.
"Unprobable, but we must check into it. We cannot risk Lord Vhosek making troop movements in our own backyard. You are to look into it Arthago." the king said.
"I would be proud my king. Where must I go?" I asked.
"Go to the town of Verkath, south west of Skaven, and inspect the situation there. Come back and report once you've found any evidence of troop movements alright?" Marshall Daron said.
"Aye, I'll be on it right now. I'm off to pack my things and any suplies I might need on the journey. Farewell my king! I shall return once I find enough evidence of troop movements." I said in an anxious tone. Finally, a new quest, not just any quest, a quest from the King! And with that I was off to the market to buy some food and water.
And that's the first bit of this chapter. It was kind off short, but the next one will be longer, I promise you. And if some of you missed the last update of the first chapter then you should check it out. Cheers!
Here's the latest update! 9/10 dentists recommend it!
~~~
Soon enough, Bridwell's private estate was looming in front of me. Placed on top of a hill with tall spires and towers surrounding it, it looked more like a fortress than an estate. The main building was a tall keep, it was Bridwell Hall aparently. I made my way inside to meet Lord Bridwell himself. The guard at the entrance of the estate did ask me what my bussines with Lord Bridwell was. What better to say than that I bring word from King Gothryd? The guard let me in at once. The inside of the estate was pretty stark, a few tapestries here and there and alot of throphies on the walls. The walls themselves were pretty cracked up for the house of a great noble. Lord Bridwell was in his training chambers, the guard said. Good enough, that rules out one of the reasons this battle would be easy. The man seemed to practice daily with various weapons and armour as far as I had heard.

I found him in the training room wearing steel armour on his lower side and on his right hand, the rest of his body was unarmoured. He had a one bladed steel battle axe at his feet. In his current condition he was perfectly ready for battle. Just my luck. I approached Lord Bridwell.
"What is your bussines at Bridwell hall, Redguard?" Lord Bridwell bluntly asked.
"I bring news from the King." I simply said to Lord Bridwell. If he asked me what news I would have to think instantly of what to say.
"What news Redguard?" Lord Bridwell asked. Just as I had feared. What to say? Um, Daggerfall wasn't in good relations with Wayrest, that was it! Wayrest was invading!
"Um, Wayrest is invading near here!" I sharply said.
"That's not why you're here Redguard. Why are you really here?" Lord Bridwell asked. He wasn't just a great warrior, he was a good judge of character.
"I already told you my Lord. Queen Elysana's forces are invading in the nearby region. Orsinium's forces are helping them!" I said, sprouting up things on the fly. Lord Bridwell however was catching up to me.
"Tell me why you really are here and I will spare my dungeon master the pain to torture the information out of you." Lord Bridwell bluntly said. Now torture wasn't a pleasant notion.
"I confess! I am here to chalenge you to a duel my Lord." I boldly said.
"You? Here to duel me? This shall give me an oportunity to practice some of my skills with the longsword. I am bored of the battleaxe. I want to try something new! This duel shall be to the death aye?" Lord Bridwell said, his eyes sparking with joy.
"Is there a choice?" I asked.
"No. If I win you die." Lord Bridwell bluntly said.
"Then what are we waiting for? Should we commence?" I asked, with a slight tear in my eye. This man was going to snap my head like a twig after he was done with me. I did see one weakness in him, overconfidence. He was bored of taking lives with the battleaxe so he chose something new, with which he didn't actually have combat experience. He also had one more weakness, almost all the upper side of his body was unarmoured. With this knowledge in mind, the duel commenced.

In front of me stood the flamboyant Lord Bridwell, his eyes sparkling with joy at the idea that he was going to claim another life. I stood my ground, scared to move against this awesome foe. He decided to approach me instead. With his sword raised high above his head he approached me with sure steps. The Eagle guard, that tactic was called. I didn't like it, it left too much of the body exposed. He started his assault with an overhead swing of his blade. After a few inches he imediately changed the direction and turned the strike into a diagonal slash which would have sliced my neck. I knew this move and quickly parried across my neck. That move saved my life.
"So you have some skill do you boy?" Lord Bridwell arrogantly asked.
"Either that or you're getting old." I also said in an arrogant voice.
"You shall pay for mocking me. Defend yourself!" Lord Bridwell shouted with anger in his voice. He then came at me with his sword slashing down on me in all directions, diagonally, horrizontally and vertically. I dodged what strikes I could and parried what others I couldn't. After that storm of moves, Lord Bridwell was showing signs of being tired. I started making my moves. I started my counter-attack with a bluff attack to his right hand. He reacted slightly and only moved his sword a little. I decided to go on with the bluff and turn my scimitar the other side. He was waiting for the move and quickly deflected my strike. After that he thrusted his sword in the direction of my chest. I just barely deflected his sword then kicked him back.

"You are really getting on my nerves boy!" Lord Bridwell shouted.
He then came at with a horizontal strike to my left arm. I parried out of reflex but before I could counter-attack he punched in the face with his armoured left fist. The punch left me vulnerable so he continued with an overhead slash to my head. I quickly jumped to the side to avoid his blade then rolled to a safer position where I quickly got up.
"So you think yourself an acrobat do you?" Lord Bridwell asked.
"Maybe you're just getting slower with age." I asked, hitting on what he disliked, his advanced age. That got him angrier.
He once again tried a bluffed vertical strike where he actually swung diagonally but I already knew the move and did what he didn't expect. I raised my scimitar as if I was going to parry his vertical strike then quickly ducked when he started his diagonal swing. I then started to run with my head down and head-butt his stomach as I saw in the Arena back in Sentinel. That left him unbalanced so I took advantage of this to kick him in the face with my armoured boot. As a result of the strike he dropped his sword and fell down. I approached him.

The mighty Lord Bridwell was down at my feet. I felt as if I was king of the world now. The slayer of King Camaron was now at my feet. I had avenged our former King! What brought Lord Bridwell's downfall was the fact that he was stubborn to use a sword instead of his trusty battleaxe. He also got angrier and that didn't let him think properly.
"It seems age has finally caught up with you my Lord." I arrogantly said.
"Just stop mocking me and take my life already. I can't live disgraced like this." Lord Bridwell said with small tears in his eyes.
"This is for King Camaron and all the other murders you commited throughout your long life. Take place among the men you have killed now. Begone!" I shouted as I thrusted my sword through Lord Bridwell's dirty heart. A problem had now dissapeared. Only Lord Vhosek was left to be dealt with...

And that's it! I hope you liked the battle and I hope it wasn't too one-sided.
