Here's the link to Chapter I of Arthago's tale.
http://www.waiting4oblivion.com/forums/ind...?showtopic=1782

We can get this new chapter over with. I can also tell you that after this chapter, Arthago will move to a new province. I'm not telling though, you have to be on your guard. Well, blabbering over, here's the begining of the newest chapter of Arthago's tale. Enjoy!

~~~
I found myself in an icy Arena, fighting someone I didn't know. He was a tall Imperial, wearing ebony plates under his blue cloak. He wielded a great mace which gave him supernatural power. He lunged at me with a ferocity I had never seen before, forcing me to put all my strength into evading his blows. He had a red in his eyes which froze the blood in my veins. What did he want? Why was I fighting him? I woke up in my inn bed after managing to hit this powerful foe. I was sweating heavily, and my head was banging. It had been a nightmare, a very realistic one. I hoped that this I wouldn't experience this kind of nightmare ever again.
Nightmares and monstrous foes aside, I had a meeting with the king of Sentinel and I didn't want to be late. I took a look at my armour. It had some patches of dirt on it, the weather in Sentinel was very windy at the time so sand storms often engulfed the city. I gave the armour a quick scrub with a cloth then put it on. I wanted to look my best if I was going to meet the King and talk affairs of state with him. I made my way downstairs and after greeting the regulars I was on my way to the palace. I decided to collect Marshall Daron from his house first. When I reached his house, I found him shaved and wearing some expensive clothes. So the Marshall had an official side to him eh?
"Are you ready sir?" I asked.
"Ready as can be, let us be off!" Marshall Daron said. And with that we were on our way to the palace.
We reached the palace soon enough, and entered the throne room. The king wasn't wearing his crown or any fancy clothes. This must have seemed like an unofficial meeting to him. Whatever. I greeted him.
"Greetings sire! We have come to discuss the subject of Lord Kain's murder." I said in an official tone.
"Yes. Lord Kain was, a good man. But sadly, the ambitions of another got into the way and he was murdered in cold blood." the King said in a sad voice.
"Aye. Lord Vhosek." Marshall Daron said.
"Yes. Lord Vhosek's personal ambitions were to rule his own province. He has it now, in the form of Lainlyn. The terms I agreed with him were that, if Lord Kain refused to rule in our name Lord Vhosek could slay him and rule the province himself. It seems Lord Vhosek didn't even propose any terms, he just plain murdered Lord Kain. If I were to send soldiers to arrest him, he could go to the kingdom of Wayrest and start a war with us. I can't have that, the men have just returned to their homes after a war. We must wait and somehow bring Lord Vhosek to justice." The king said.
"I know how." I said.
"And how may that be Arthago?" Marshall Daron asked me.
"I will go to Lord Vhosek's palace in Lainlyn and slay him myself. I can't let Lord Kain's murder go unpunished." I said in a bold tone.
"Bold words for someone so young. How will you get past Vhosek's guards? He has his own knight order to protect him." The king said. He was right, I was geting too bold for my own age and experience.
"Yes, you are right my king. But what shall we do? Lord Vhosek might as well build his power in Lainlyn and start a war with us. We must neutralize him. If he lied to your Majesty and murdered Lord Kain just to gain power then he doesn't feel any fear towards your Highness." I said.
"Aye, true words. I must say that you have a great ammount of political savy my boy." the king said. Wow, beeing aknowledged by the king felt great.
"I have heard that some rebellious groups have been popping up in the north of the kingdom. Maybe Lord Vhosek has already started his movements?" Marshall Daron said.
"Unprobable, but we must check into it. We cannot risk Lord Vhosek making troop movements in our own backyard. You are to look into it Arthago." the king said.
"I would be proud my king. Where must I go?" I asked.
"Go to the town of Verkath, south west of Skaven, and inspect the situation there. Come back and report once you've found any evidence of troop movements alright?" Marshall Daron said.
"Aye, I'll be on it right now. I'm off to pack my things and any suplies I might need on the journey. Farewell my king! I shall return once I find enough evidence of troop movements." I said in an anxious tone. Finally, a new quest, not just any quest, a quest from the King! And with that I was off to the market to buy some food and water.
And that's the first bit of this chapter. It was kind off short, but the next one will be longer, I promise you. And if some of you missed the last update of the first chapter then you should check it out. Cheers!
I've just played Oblivion a little and that got me really excited. So excited that I've decided to write this update to my story. Enjoy!
~~~
We soon met a larger host of about 30 men. They hailed the King in a low voice to show their loyalty in him. They were quiet because Vhosek's men were about and they could raise the alarm any moment.
"Alright men, the gate is up ahead at the end of this street. We'll form the shield wall to block their arrows and then we'll take up the ram to open the gates to the city. The King and his men will stand at the middle of the shield wall. Understood?" the soldier captain said after repeating the tactics to his men.
"My men won't need to stand in the shield wall. We'll go our own way through those ruined buildings." Captain Thassad said. His men could handle themselves fine enough if you asked me.
"Good enough. Let's go!" the soldier captain said as he led his men to the gate.
Soon enough they formed a compact wall with their shields which blocked any arrows fired by Vhosek's archers who were standing on the walls. I was huddled with the King right at the middle. The formation was good for blocking separate arrows but when Vhosek's archers fired coordinated volleys a few men died. Captain Thassad's men were handling themselves much better through the burning buildings, arrows barely made it to them. When they got close to the walls, the Wood Elf showed his skill with a bow. He started firing a hail of arrows all by himself. Vhosek's archers found themselves in a weak position so they took cover.
"Ah, good to see you captain!" the King said as the soldiers who were with us took up a battering ram which was at the base of the gate.
"Wait there, we're coming to you!" Captain Thassad said as he led his men out of the ruins.
Since some of the soldiers were wounded from the arrow volleys I decided to help the men pushing the battering ram. With my help the gates were breached soon enough.

In front of us we saw a horrible sight. A host of men bearing the Moon of Lord Vhosek on their chests were charging at us. We had to fight them so the men raised their shields and formed a loose wall to greet the enemy with. I ran behind a soldier with a shield and decided to hold his back.

After a few moments all hell broke loose and men were being slain worser than at Verkath. The soldier whom I was hiding behind soon died, pierced by a spear. A man then came at me with his axe raised high. I quickly stabbed him in the stomach then pushed him into one of his comrades whom I also slashed over the neck leaving him to die. One with a spear then came towards me after slaying a soldier who was on my side. He thrust his spear towards my chest but I deflected his thrust then backed off. He was too far away for any maneuvre. He started approaching me with his spear at the ready but before he could thrust it at me he fell, slain by the Wood Elf's bow. I thanked him then moved my atention towards another man who charged me carrying a steel mace in his hands. His first blow was slow so I ducked to evade it, he then tried an overhead strike that would dispatch me but I rolled to the left. I rolled into the feet of another enemy and knocked him down. I quickly got up then thrusted my sword hard into his neck. The one with the mace was still coming at me and I didn't have anywhere to run. Before he could hit me with his mace someone thrusted a spear through his chest. I looked behind me and I saw King Lhotun.
"I didn't know you had it in you your Majesty." I quickly said while drawing my breath.
"I like to train with weapons in my free time. I can afford the best trainers anyway." the King said, doing the same.
"It seems the battle is over." I slowly said as I saw Vhosek's men either dying on the ground or running for their lives and providing the Wood Elf with target practice.
"Yes. I saw you fight, you fought well. Like a true Redguard! When this is all over, I shall personaly advance you to Commander rank in the Order." the King said as he looked around. Wonderful! Being praised by the King really felt good and made me proud.

After the battle was over the soldiers regrouped. The leader of the soldiers issued a head count of all the men left.
"So how many are there left private?" the leader asked one of the soldiers.
"Only 23 out of the 37 men we had at the start captain." the soldier said to his captain.
"Good enough. I heard about another group of soldiers trapped in the city barracks around here. I'm sure they could use our help. What do you think Sire? Shall we head in the direction of the barracks to gain more men or head directly to the palace?" the captain of the soldiers asked King Lhotun.
"Lord Vhosek isn't going anywhere. I think we can spare some time to go and find reinforcements. Lead the way!" the King simply said.
"As you wish Sire. To the barracks!" the captain shouted as he led our small host of men to the city barracks.

The noon sun shined on the armour of our host as we approached the barracks. The outside was ruined and bodies riddled the streets, Vhosek's men and loyal soldiers alike. I stopped the captain of the soldiers to make a sugestion to him.
"Yes what is it?" the captain asked.
"Wouldn't it be better if only 2 or 3 men went inside the barracks? Who knows what could be in there?" I asked, sugesting a stealthy approach to the situation.
"It sounds like a great idea. Get to it!" the captain said. Wait a moment, did he say that I should do it? Why do people always send me? Isn't there anybody better than me?
"You're sending me?" I asked trying to convince the captain otherwise.
"Yes. Who better? Take whoever you want and get to work soldier." the captain bluntly said as he ordered me around.
"I'm doing this for King Lhotun. If he weren't here I would shove that ordering around bussines right into your face." I boldly said. I was Commander rank in the King's knights wasn't I? I had the right to boss over him not the other way around.
"Watch your tongue boy! Get those damn men and show me how brave you are!" he shouted as we were quickly getting into an argument.
"Just shut up and watch the show." I arrogantly said to the soldier. Now that I thought about it, he didn't actually deserve that behaviour on my side. He was giving everything he had, even his life, for the King. When I returned, if I returned, I should apologize to him.

I quickly took only the Wood Elf to go inside. Since he was the most stealthy guy around I decided to take him. The Khajiit was probably more skilled but I didn't exactly trust beast races, especially the Khajiit. Those felines are the most drugged up creatures I've ever seen. Racism aside, I entered the barracks with my Wood Elf friend....
