i only looked at the guide to make sure i didn't forget any of the daedric quests. didn't bother reading the character creation part. (super powerful characters just don't hold any appeal to me) just pick a list of skills that seem good to you, and don't worry about being the "ultimate badass". the goal of the game is to have fun and challenge yourself. if you follow the guide to the letter, you won't ever run into anything you can't handle. if you defeat something that you shouldn't be able to (like killing umbra at lvl 12 for example

), you get more satisfaction.
but hey, play the game however you want to, that's what bethesda made it for, after all.
same thing goes for a race, just pick something that appeals to you. i went with dunmer because i wanted to play a character that worshipped anscestor spirits and daedra. and unlike most people, i accually liked the dunmer npc's in morrowind.
guess there really wasn't a point to this, bleh
