Well, if you go for a Lightsaber, I think it is illegal. But there should be no legal problems in creating some sort of energy sword. Things like that have been around in sci-fi long before mister Lucas decided he wanted something more flashy than steel. (The result looked like a radioactive club that glows in the dark instead of a noble sword, but that doesn't matter.)
Now, don't trust me blindly, cause I am too lazy to learn the laws beyond the don't steal, stop before red, don't kill, don't drive on the left side of the road variant. -------------------- Fabulous hairneedle attack! I'm gonna be bald before I hit twenty.
